Does anyone believe that Adelman will try to give Francis a shot. or will Rafer continue to shoot air balls, bricks and floaters? There's neededs to be a change somewhere, anywhere Rick.
u know what yao should do to get calls and respect of the refs: learn from d-whistle, a man notorious for phantom calls: http://pic40.picturetrail.com/VOL293/8719706/16143570/289770645.jpg just maddog and glare at them. no need to speak.
Whether we win or lose this game, this is evident; this team will not advance past the first round with the current rotation, Rafer and Chuck are not starting caliber NBA players - thus we start off a game playing three-on-five, and in most cases two-on-five. The current personel that Adelman utilizes in his rotation does not fit his supposed "offensive scheme". I mean Hayes in the high post is laughable - if anything, Scola has some of the same defensive attributes and is a much better passer. And the whole argument that Rafer should be starting because he gets us in our offense is hysterical as well. What offense? Is the state of our point guards so bad that the ability to bring the ball up the court, slow it down and pass is such a major requirement that it supplants the fact that you cannot hit an open jumper or break down and individual defender. C'mon! I believe Francis or Brooks can get the ball past half court sufficiently and actually make an offfensive play. If that's the case, why is Head running the point over AB and Francis? And I see why Minnesota let go of Mike. Finally guys it's time to look at the big picture - we are the eighth best team in the west right now. Yeah I said it EIGHTH. Seven other teams can and will beat us in a seven game series unless we tweak this rotation.
That starting 5 outscored the Mavericks 58-38 in the first and third quarters last game. It was the 2nd and 4th quarters(particularly the beginning of these quarters) where the Rockets struggled. That being said, at least one of those 2 will not be starting in another month.
If the coach stick with the same rotation and we won the game, then we are doom for another first round exit or not even in the playoff. We should all realize the current rotation is 2 and half against 5 every night, or 7 if you count the ref. Can you tell me who else is an offensive threat beside Yao and TMAC. This is why we played so bad in the 4th because our two main guys has been playing 2 against 5 all night long with nothing left in the 4th Quarter.
Yao Vs. Shaq. there will be 300 million people watching in China. Hope rockets win. please shut down Wade..
What you said has been exactly what I think. That's why I am very frustrated with Coach Adelman. This same starting five was proven not good enough last year, with a better defense intensity, why does this coach think it would work better this year? We have to give Steve a chance now, we have to play Scola more, and we have to give some time to Bookes or even Landry. Otherwise, this team is not going anywhere!
Oh I have seen him play this year, but hes going to play against Yao. He plays his best against Yao cause he doesnt want a chinese guy to be the most dominant center. Plus he should be motivated after the comments by D Wade. BUT I hope Yao does dominate him tonight.
our second unit needs a play maker, alston is perfect for this role our second unit also needs a low post player, wells is not enough. the following two players combo should never play together: deke/hayes alston/head james/head
I'm a big soccer (i prefer the term football) fan as well as a devout basketball-holic. Comparing the two sports, I'm amazed at how slow basketball coaches are at making roster changes. You do have your starting lineup in soccer. But whenever players are not doing well or suffer from chemistry, other players are immediately inserted into a lineup. Minor changes to the roster are constantly being made and fine-tuned from game to game, if necessary. However, in the NBA at least, it seems as if the majority of coaches are unwilling to make even the slightest roster changes. What is the purpose of having 10 to 15 players on your roster if you're not going to even use 50% of them on a regular basis??? Take our team for instance. We've been on a 5 game losing stream where the majority of the games lost could've been won. Now, it's obvious certain changes could've turned the outcome in our favor. Yet, the coach insists on sticking to the original five. If you watch English premiership or Spanish La Liga games, this would never happen. Fans would be calling for the coaches' head and the press would pound on the team managers like a fat man on a Thanksgiving Day turkey. Yet the Houston press and the general public are as calm as ever (not Clutchfans). Everyone is just so civil and let things take its due course. Yes, I know where this is going....another first round exit.
