Double? What? Since when did Shaq receive help from anyone? He doesn't want help because he thinks he can take everyone himself. Tonight Yao's lack of touches is ENTIRELY due to Adelman. He puts Yao at the elbow because he must think Yao can't beat Shaq in the post. What a stupid move.
Again, piss poor defense. Miami, one of the worst shooting teams in NBA this season, shot 60% against Rox in first half. That says it all.
Freak, if the coach thinks Francis sucks too much to play, play Brooks for the love of God. For as much as he'll get worked on defense, at least he won't airball open 3's two times in a row.
i think they don't want to lose their jobs as beat reporters. i mean any decent reporter should ask this: "hey coach, i've watched the games and rafer is simply one of the worst starters i have ever seen. nobody guards him. he's as much of a liability as chuck. can'ts hoot. sure he's pass first but damn, when u put him and chuck out there, your stars get no spacing. why u still start him?"
Adlman had to spend a timeout to get Yao some touches when Mourning was guarding him. I don't know it's by game plan or by Rox guards. Yao was missed quite a few times down low.
oop sorry, xposted rafer turnover heat score rafer brick 3 rafer airball 3 after offensive board heat score rafer dribbles the ball down and then passes it to a yao mid court (as if he is a make a wish foundation point guard who cant facilitate for crap) yao bricks, tmac gets a lucky board and put back so that the mirage or rafer's validity ensues. heat score tmac brings the ball down cause lets face it, after the last possesion of make a wish foundation rafer, someone has to be a real PG. end result? no points for rockets heat score YAY! Thanks Rick for making rafer's dream come true oh and the best part was the following timeout when Francis rests his elbows on Rafer's back and shoulders. Rafer turns around perturbed and Rick responds like he's trying not to act frustrated.
well if it was 26 seconds left when he shot, there is definitely not enough time for a 2 for 1. usually, the rule is to shoot at 35 seconds. too much time for the other team to bleed the clock, but not enough to earn a second possession. they should then run thier usual offence. if that takes longer than 10 seconds you have your 2 for 1. if tmac shot at 30 seconds (as i thought earlier) then he was pushing it. if he shot at 26 seconds, he was wrong for not bleeding the clock.
he did receive a few double team help. and when zo was on him, yao was doubled quite often. but yes, i would like yao to get the ball more.
Is anyone watching this on ESPN 360? IS IT JUST ME OR ITS JUST RERUNNING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER? WHATS GOING ON?
It's the game plan. When Shaq is in the game, Yao is at the elbow. That is stupid. Yao can beat Shaq in the low post, in fact it is necessary to make Shaq work on the defensive end. Adelman needs to get Yao more post touches. The opponent is not going small nor are they fronting, nor are they even doubling. Yao needs to get the ball in the low post. Adelman is ridiculous to plant him at the elbow.
Here is my problems with Alston as our main PG: 1.) Rarely drives the ball to the hoop... Instead, he just takes the ball up and hands it to McGrady. I don't understand how ANY point guard can spend most of his time on the perimeter.. that is no PG in my opinion. 2.) His shooting is no longer streaky, it just plain out sucks. To be streaky, you have to have good games and bad games. He has had 1 good game out of 10 and don't give me that bull that he doesn't have enough PT. He gets at least 20-25 mins per game if not more. 3.) HIs passing gets lazier and lazier. Like one of the posters said, this isn't And 1. With that said, I don't think MJ is the answer either. He is obviously a shoot first guard. In my opinion, we should make Francis the point guard, even with the rust factor, or we move Tmac there and let MJ play shooting guard. IMO, he would be much happier at shooting guard.
Um, the best way to get the ball to Yao is to penetrate and dish. You'd need a decent PG to do that. Our started doesn't count as decent.
a stupid move that has allowed him to play more minutes, and probably more seasons while still averaging 20+ points. then you have the fact that yao has been great on defense this season thanks to that move to the high post. he's not exhausted after a trip to the offensive end of the court. so at the end of the day yao's lack of shots is due to adelman. yao is also becoming a better player.
