Thank you for the insightful comment during the game today. I enjoy reading your post so much. Keep em coming!
I like how the ESPN commentators say they like how Yao was complaining and playing with more personality. That there proves that that was probably their first Rockets game. Evar.
one question, real quick: why doesn't novak see the court when defensive stalwarts like jason kapono are in? he could at least play some d on them, plus it would give us an offensive option. good win, tho, just a question
In all fairness, Legler is one of the few media types that actually picked the Rockets as one of the teams that could win it all. I'll give him a pass for now. The game was in Miami and they are the defending champs. So, I can understand some of their commentary towards Miami. Just remember most of the media can't see in the future. They have a short memory and it is of the recent past. When the Rox win it all, they will get their props. Who really cares anyways what ESPN or any other national media says? It don't make a .... We know what we got here. (We're staring a 60 win team in the face. Shhhh!)
A great photo of Yao Ming: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/photo?slug=getty-71797751vb013_rockets_heat_11_39_51_pm&prov=getty
Yea... Kapono looked real great, getting stripped at one end, and being a part of the reason why the Rockets were able to go off for 36 points in that quarter. Look... Novak will get plenty of playing time when necessary (like if we're down by 10 and can't score at all... which is why Miami brought in Kapono). He's still got to bulk up, and he's always going to have his defeciencies defensively. JVG will start easing him in as the team he has right now gets more comfortable playing with each other... but till then, the whining about his PT needs to slow down. People were crying for Boki much the same.
Get over it. It's just statistic, which never meant to be accurate. Statistic only gives you trends on long run. Your 1 rebound will fade in 82 games.
Screw them let the hear get the highlights and the glory we got what was important its the same as when we played the knicks Yao had alot of sweet plays but we only made it into the highlight reel because of the dunk by nate
Yao did pretty well... but, I think one thing Yao could still learn from Shaq is how to start off with close low post positioning. A lot of times when Shaq got the ball, he was already really close to the basket (even though he didn't make any of his shots). If Yao could start out being really close to the basket, he wouldn't have to work so hard trying to back down or dribble around or shoot a fadeaway.
didn't see the game but Boki was given props for his overtime in Nets win tonight. although, agreed, whining needs to stop.
Boki was 6-8 from the floor and 3-4 from 3 point range for 15 points tonight. He is shooting around 45% for the year. DD
