Actually I regard it as complimentary. What will happen when we finally arrived? I do say 40 pts blow!!!
ESPN is having such a hard time coming up with a headline for this game..... "Yao eats Shaq's lunch"....No cant do that... "Miami gets scorched by Rockets"...No no..That would make Rockets look like contenders... How about.... "Rockets hold onto a 20 point lead to barely escape a Heat comeback."...yeah that works.
that was probably why the bbs is slow/can't even load anyways, impressed by the 4th quarter from the Rockets. T-Mac was assertive, he basically disappeared for the first 3 quarters. I don't really care if he scores or not I just want him to be apart of the offense, I think it's too easy to just give it down to Yao and not have anything else but his offense. The Rockets need to make cuts, have some backdoor action going on instead of just standing there. I liked the gameplan in the 4th, give it to McGrady and let him do the work.
The funny thing is that Shaq was REALLY determined to show he is the best tonight...you could see it in the beginning of the game.
I've been watching on League Pass, and I'd have to say the opposing teams announcers have been more complimentary of the Rockets than these ESPN guys were tonight. Head shot superbly to close out that game. TMac took over the game without scoring. Yao was completely dominant. Hope Chuck's knee is alright. He is one of my favorite players now. Love how McGrady seems to always find him for a few layups. Next up, San Antonio.
The funny thing about Shaq is that he is very tentative on his baby hooks when he plays against Yao. He doesn't play to win, he plays not to get embarassed. So instead of risking Yao blocking his shot on a short jumper, you see alot of hesitation from Shaq unless he's standing right under the basket. That being said, Shaq played pretty well (for his current ability) considering how much attention the Rockets gave him.
Yao.....unbelievable....just unbelievable. MVP! MVP! MVP! I couldn't stomach Greg Anthony nor Clyde over on FSN. I'm really trying NOT to let Clyde ruin my Rockets experience but it's tough, it's real tough.
Don't you just love ESPN and Sportscenter? Heat/Rockets highlights and they show Shaq elbowing Yao in the back of the head on the rebound where as the guy makes a comment about Yao falling down. Oh, then prceeds to say the Rockets have won 4 in a row after losing thier first two games. What? You know if it were Shaq with that stat line, not only would they have showed all Shaq highlights on Yao, but would have also interviewed him after the game with their sideline reporter and would have been the headline story on their website instead of the Clippers winning their fifth in a row. Maybe I care about it too much. I just hate that there a TON of people that pretty much base their opinions of Yao from what they see on ESPN and I think it's pretty crappy at how biased they are towards certain players. I know old story
good game. loved how we hung in there and then took over in the fourth quarter. loved the way t-mac played even though his shot wasn't falling, how he orchestrated so much of the offense at the end. I thought Gundy did a great job with Yao's minutes and fouls, giving him rests and giving him opportunities to go up against Mourning whenever he could. and what can you say about Yao. Dominant. Once the team figures out how to play with one another, watch out. Greg Anthony's an a**.
i really liked the role i saw t-mac played in 4th quarter. rafer is a great point guard but t-mac was amazing at the one in the half court set in 4th quarter. the pick and rolls with yao where a thing of beauty.
The Rockets didn't just luck out against the Heat, they really BEAT the Heat, punched them, kicked them, and knocked them out. Very gritty performance, overall, and Ming was playing in another gear, he was fantastic. If TMac's shot had been on, this would have been a blow out, nearly was anyway. Ming is becoming consistently scary.
