man our back court has just 9 total points. that is totally unacceptable hopefully they'll pick it up in the second half because the front court is getting the job done tonight both on boards and scorinng

I'm happy with the kind of efforts our guys are showing tonight especially Yao. Stro is showing some aggressiveness but sometimes he's off, like a loose cannon.

Head is awesome so far with his hustle play.

Who sucks in the first half? DA.. he's playing his own game...

does anyone else love that jermaine o'neal commercial where he helps the dude in the pickup game? the look on the guy's face who he swats out of bounds with both hands is priceless.

Yao gets tired guys, just accept it as a fact. He plays effectively with some stamina for about 30 min a night, but anything more than that and he's laboring hard out there; it's a permenant 'annoyance' he has to live with for the rest of his career, due to his size and not for any other reason (i.e. he isn't in great game shape yet).

I have always said from day one that the only obstacle between Yao and greatness was something he has no control over: his size.

I am damn impressed by his effort/aggressiveness so far this season though, and his shooting % will get back to normal once McGrady gets back to take some pressure off him.

Tell me you didn't think Wesley is our answer to Wade.

DA must have the worst defense I've seen. He can't stay in front of his man to save his life.

We've got go have our big guys like Deke hammer Wade
a bit. We can't let him think he can just get to the rim every time.

Barry -- much like Wesley and other guards -- makes his living off McGrady's passing/attention that he commands out there. Without McGrady, Barry doesn't have space to shoot the ball and they have to actually work and create a shot, which they aren't capable of doing.

The only ones who can create their own shot a bit is Alston and Anderson.

all i am asking for is 30-40 points combined from the backcourt tonight (alston, head, anderson, barry, wesley) which i dont think is too much to ask for
with that i believe the rockets can pull this out provided that their defense holds up too.

hard fouls are no substitution for good defense. we don't have ANY perimeter defense. rafer, wesley, DA, and barry let everyone pass them. wesley was able to play some nice perimeter defense last year and tmac was able to help a little but this season we have NONE.

more than anything we need a defensive stopper on the perimeter!

alston and others have gotten guys good looks from 3 pt. land, they just have to make them. and we have to make some damn free throws 6-13 is just pathetic.

i'm sure our averages will even out. barry missed 3 3's. that won't happen in the second half. he has to at least make 1!

we are doing well at not turning the ball over. we have to keep them out of the paint. 45% from the field is too much. we used to hold teams under 40%.

we have to keep the game at a slow pace for yao. if we let it get too fast thier guards will tear ours apart.

DA has been dispoinintg. Shot selection is really poor.

I really think Head is our best defensive guard out of the current trio
