Yao certainly wouldn't do that. So a PnR is not a PnR but a waste of time and wearing Yao down until T-Mac is back.

By the way, Stro is getting better while our two new starting guards look terrible.

from what I have heard this team isnt doing as bad as the score shows.. they have to find a way to step it up in the 4th quater. Once tracy is back everything will change. Also, if Anderson and Wesley can find their shot this team would be a different story.. Gotta keep in mind that the season is young and better have the injuries now than later in the season.

YAO can play 36 mins well. he got tired because he did too much. it's more like he played against whole HEAT team himself from both side. our guard defense is bad bad and YAO had to help them and made screen for them on the O.

I can not remember either SHAQ and TD ever did so much work. and in the clutch time, they always can beat us from PG position.

our chance happened after YAO score 8 pts, if we can shoot 2-3 3 pts, we may steal the game

Another common way to be fronting slightly out of the post. That way when you lob to the middle, Yao has room to release the pressure and catch the ball at a good position in the post. However, this tactic requires good spacing... something the Rockets currently lack.

First of all, not shXt here.

After watching every rockets' game and two new lakers' game this season, I am just amazed by two things:

    1. lakers' capablity of identifying Smush Parker. (never heard of him before. but it seems every year Lakers can find a good no-name player to shine.)

    2. the change that Phil has brought to the team. You've got admit it they are a better team with probably less talented personnel.

That made me think what Phil can bring to the team. Not to say JVG is terrible, but I am tired of the offense schemes of his.

JVG doesnt give up easily. Give this team sometime, once the new guys get it, take less wild shots, we will be fine. Last year start all over again. We lost 3 close ones. If Stro drove two poession less, DA force less shots and Rafer be were more assertive the results could well be different. Down the strech we just didnt execute well. We would like to see Yao force the shots instead of other guys thinking they should step up. Also 3 loss were handed us by opposing guards. This has to a big concern too. At one end our guards were unable to set up offense, and at the other end just let other peopl blow by or score easily. When Sura is going to be back? :)

What a pathetic display last night...I'd be surprised if we one one game on this road trip...Not sure what the problem is specifically, other than we can't shoot or play D...

I have to say I am a little disappointed at Jeff. He is not a good coach for offense.
Talking about this fronting problem, we may have more choices. Except effective PNR and good-timing lob, we can use Princeton offense like Kings. You can come out taking the ball and watch the defense of the other team. The other Rockets keep running and find a way to attack the basket. We all know Yao is a good passer and mid-range jump shooter. And people always mention that Princeton system is a better fit for Yao. I am not talking about using this for ever. But it may help when we need some changes.
But anyway, I am not complaining the losses recently. I personally think it's a good thing. A champion team need solid role players like Steve Kerr and Robert Horry. You can not just depend on the superstars. I still remember in laker time, Phil Jackson did try to let Horry make the final shot in regular season. And it did work in playoff. So it's our time to exercise our role players.

Exactly. It seems JVG cannot do the math here. He is so stubborn sometime. I would count every forced and rushed shot from our guards as a TO and we have tons of them every game. So stop worrying about Yao fumble the ball. When nothing works, go with the option that you have a chance: Yao.

At 9:28 left in the 4th the tide turned- Haslem was not called on the foul on Swift- we lost momentum.

We have no direction from bench.

I noticed sometimes Alston or DA pass the ball to Yao who's at the three point line. Then Alston or DA simply stands there. Yao had nobody coming off screen to pass to. So he holds onto the ball and just stands there waiting someone to slowly come by and receive his pass, or simply passes back to the passer. What waste of time!

All JVG needs to do is to tell the guards to use Yao as a screen and receive the ball to drive or pull up a jumper. It's simple basketball.

how come Im the only one wondering about the highlights of the game? Seems like there is usually a good amount of people requesting it...I dont like to bug about them. Prollly just because we lost and/or it looks ugly out there with Tmac...highlights have to be the shortest.

    you havent missed it ;)

I havent posted them yet here...I had some real life issues come up immediately after the game and had to deal with that, and as such was unable to even edit the file until yesterday..I will be posting a thread with all three video links in a little while.
