I turned it off when we were down 6... I didn't think itd get bad enough to lose by 20 again... W T F??? I don't break things, but I feel like breaking things.
This current system with Harden playing however way he likes, and going into iso mode or 3pt shooting mode has never been good for Rockets PGs. Beverley is the only one that benefited, because he's not expected to do much other than defend and take open 3s, and that's Beverley's whole game. Let's just put Beverley back in the starting lineup and use Lawson as a spark off the bench. Or, if Harden doesn't pick things up, just play him strictly off the ball.
It's easy to blame Harden and McHale or any of the usual suspects, but I believe the obvious issue is Ty Lawson. That was abundantly clear tonight. His lack of familiarity is disruptive and he does little else to have a positive impact on the game. McHale should put him on the bench and bring him along slowly until he gains an understanding of how the Rockets like to play and what is expected of him. Unlike last season the Rockets seem to be lacking an identity and Harden's usual offensive brilliance isn't there to bail them out. Three consecutive 20 point losses is an embarrassment for a team that never lost more than 2 in a row all of last season. This demands change and it starts with sitting Ty Lawson.
Harden shooting 25% for the season. I don't even want to know what from 3. This is just a horrible start for the Rockets, after a nice playoff run last season. I hope McHale is gone soon; although I don't think upper management has the balls
Very simple. BRING LAWSON OFF THE FREAKING BENCH. This way everyone in the starting unit and in the bench unit will know their roles. FFS. At least we won't lose by 20 because there won't be the absolutely worst defensive backcourt in the whole league. Even worse defensively than the sixers.
This team counts on threes and Harden to win games when both are not happening we see what happens !!!!!
What do you think Morey is thinking right now? Finally felt good enough about the team to keep most of it together, resigned and slightly overpayed crappy role players (Bev and Brewer), went out and got a top tier PG and now the Rockets are literally the worst team in the league.
Calvin: Middle distance basketball put me in the hall. Nothing is wrong with that shot. Everyone is gonna play the Rockets three.
Well, Philadelphia, a team designed to tank, still has a worse point differential than ours. And OKC is up 27 over Denver, a team that beat us by 20.
How is your Defence supposed to work when you have Thornton + Harden + Lawson at the same time and Harrell as center? That's impossible. Not even the love child of Pop and Phil Jackson could make this lineup work defensively. And by one hell of a team I hope he means just hell. This team right now is hell.
Give the team another 20 games to see if they can turn this the season around. If we are still playing like D-Leaguers, then workout an amicable settlement with McHale and start fresh. I don't even know who is available but anybody who was worked with Pops should merit an interview, to-wit: someone who will emphasize a motion offense and at least an average defense.
Gotta try something different!! Lawson off the bench, with Jones. Bev and Harrell in the starting lineup for energy boost. Brewer's minutes get minimize for more Thornton. Tell Harden to stop being so damn lazy or bench his butt. I don't care if we lose by 50 at home tomorrow. We need to have changes!! None of this is working!
Thibbedou And don't give me that rubbish about he will run players into the ground. Good. He will demand the absolute best of his players and he will get them playing defense.
