    Thoughts on the game:

Novak started really cold, but strung a series of beautiful 3s together, but for me he still hasnt proven he can do anything besides hit the wide open 3. Our starters i think did really well, alston getting his outside shot going which is very good to see, BATTIER seriously i love this guy, understands the game so well, his 100 times slower than d-wade yet because he can read the game so well still took the charge, anyone else see that? i nearly cried with joy, Battier rocks my world.

Snyder was extremely solid, his permimeter shot was off though :/ but all in all very solid performance, actually the two most dissappointing were Tmac and Yao, but Yao still manage an okay game afterwards. TMAC, shot selection is a bit off, crazy turn arounds that we know he can make, but doesnt need to, and didnt tonight. flashes of brilliant passing and scoring ability, but still, missing quite alot of open shots. Overall yao put up a decent performance, and tmac was dissappointing, only because we know what he can do. Positives to note were that even without our 2 main scoring options on fire, others were there to step up good enough for a win.

V-span. great D, bagged a few steals and i think one of our top defenders, love his agressiveness, hit a J or 2 as well i think. Few off passes but overall very good performance. Jacobsen, i think he needs to be cut, i havent seen anything worth mentioning from him. Padgett didnt get much time, and didnt do much tonight but he verified his spot on the roster from previous good performances. Hayes did okay but still. 6"6 Centre is still ridiculous. sure he held up against miamis 3rd string centre, but yea, to put him out there in RS would be suicide.

Interesting events: shaq's airball free throw, and also banking one off the board with d-wade behind encouraging. Shaq block Yao  but then Yao go him back :) ,also Zo getting ejected, no bonzi?

We beat the Heat hooray! , d-wade is in scary form. Our future prospects are shining very brightly, very encouraged and have a great feel about this team, GO ROCKETS!!

The two are related. You saw all of the above BECAUSE H-Ho was sitting on the bench.

Playing J-Ho usually translates into a ugliness.

Hmmmm...I smell a trade...I smell JHo moving to Boston. This week. At least that is the scent I sense.

ESPN commentator our very own ex-rockets and exnumber 20 "JB" John Barry on Novak. "The guy has tremendous shooting skills and can really shoots behind the arc".said by John and added that JVG has said that this guy Novak can really shoot 3'S! :D I find that really funny!!!

I have to agree. Alston's preseason has been extremely impressive. Still needs to carry it over though.

Howard is fine as long as he plays backup C against the right matchups. He just should't get too many minutes at PF next to Yao.

The Novak guy should shoot 10 3's a game, he can easily make 5 of them. And with a normal TMAC and YAO, this should give Rockets 70% WIN.

definitely, everyone spent the entire offseason hating on him about how terrible the mike james trade was (I would do it all over again, to be honest). his shot is looking pretty nice this year, and the times when tmac has been running the offense he's been consistent in knocking down the shots -- if anyone is questioning alston's playmaking ability they need to have their head examined to begin with. I don't think his defense is as bad as people are making it out to be either, though he won't be locking anyone down anytime soon.

Novak's shot is just effortless. If he gets enough shots to be a 15ppg guy, he'll be a deadly commodity. Rockets need him to be more than a 8ppg Kerr type of guy, he has to shoot a lot to make an impact.

Again, Novak is the DAGGER...4 three pointers in the 4th quarter.

The guy plays better once people's legs get a little tired, he moves without the ball and always finds an open spot....and watch how everyone LOOKS for him when he is on the court.

Novak will play A LOT this year.....a great pickup in the 2nd round.

    On another note......where was Head?

This team is loaded, is there room for Head and Bonzi, or does Head push V-span to the bench as the 3rd PG.

I think that Bowen and Sura get cut.....

You know, the gay trade was a master coupe for us. battiers leadership and hustless is priceless.

BTW, i doubt gay would have done anything more special then what Supernova is doing now. so in effect we got battier for free.

While i agree that theres no use for jacobsen staying, i have to give him props for his basketball IQ and unselfishness, which this team needs. If you notice his three assist today, all of them are to novak. He seems to be the best at finding novak. Had he made his 3 pointers, people in this forum would be saying how great he is. blah blah blah.

the truth is he had a good game. bottom line: he is redundent.

btw, just wanna comment on how great novak is. tpday is the first time i saw him in good quality,(previously all streaming tv) and that kid really looks decent. everyone knows his shot, but i though he actually look decent on defense and has great bball IQ that'll give him minutes * a lot more than i previously thought* in our rotation.

looks like we'll hav a 9 deep rotation.

Why people keep saying Novak can only shoot? He also average 4.8rpg so far and his defense is better that I thought.

15 points is only 5 3's. He made 4 in a row tonight. and got a easy layup. Maybe more. I don't know the final stats.
