The Heat are what a well-oiled NBA offense looks like, but we shot ourselves in the foot with bad shooting (FVV aside) and weird defensive rotations. I’ve been one of the biggest Tate defenders but he is NOT a starter. I thought he would’ve got his corner 3 down by now but alas…he also fouls at an alarming rate and is getting blown by remarkably often while being tasked to guard the opponents best players. Dillon will still be a while, but I don’t see any reason not to at least give Amen some run as a defensive guy who can’t shoot

Great learning experience i think. Miami is a very tough defensive twam and they implored a ton of zone. That realllllyyy faltered our goto offensive sets with getting Sengun the ball on the short roll and deep post. We were lucky enough to be hot from 3 in the first half, not so much in the 2nd half. Oh well, gg next
Tate just isn't big enough for the type of player he is. There was a brief period early in the season where he was knocking down threes at a high rate and I started to wonder if maybe had some late bloomer eureka moment, but it was just small sample size shenanigans. I'm firmly back in the territory of "he's a third stringer in the NBA". I love his intensity and his finishing ability is surprisingly good for his size, but in *2024 you just can't play a 6'4" or under guy who doesn't hit threes unless he's a superstar point guard.
