If we had to lose, I will take this one - losing to the Heat is not really as bad as losing to a midwest opponent, for example. I fully expect them to recover and score a good win against the Kings.

The bad thing about NBA? You either win, or lose.

This win was sad, but atleast it doen't add to our horrible Midwest division record.

12 total team assists = more than likely to lose games.

It worked both ways. There were mistakes that Steve made that didn't show up on the box score either:
    1) (4min to go in the 3rd). Steve threw an alley-oop behind Cato that Odom touched without knowing it was going out of bound. (Worrel acknowledged the lucky break).
    2) (2 min, 3rd). Steve dribbled into 3 people, got tied up for a jump ball. The stat sheet did not show TO.
    3) (39sec, 3rd). Steve dribbled into double team, threw the ball out of bound, the ref missed the call and gave Rockets the ball. (Chancellor and Worrel acknowledged the break again).
    4) (11 min. 4th qtr). Steve fumbled the pass from Padgett. The TO was given to Padgett.
    ....
How about the missed shots or TOs that lead directly to the Heat's fastbreak? How about the fouls that gave the Heat's FT? How about Skip-to-my-low's career day after he avg 35%FG for the yr?
Steve had a bad game. Nobody was piling on. They just stated the obvious.

Our spacing was horrible- I cant tell you how many times the floor looked "crowded" on the post side. They need to move out a bit if they want to get Yao the ball- paticularly when the opposing team decides to front him. Yao didn't have a great game but the supporting cast didn't do a good job of feeding him the ball either, paticularly in the early going.

Hakeems supporting cast learned to deliver the entry pass over and around the front man and Yaos team is going to have to do the same. Hes 7'6", throw it up and out there for pete-sake. It can't be that difficult.

No, they didn't state the obvious.

They made it seem as if Steve bricked shot after shot from outside when left open all night.

That just wasn't the case, it was Jackson who missed the shots (and whose man scored what, 27?)

And if you want to go play the "turnover assigning game", there's plenty of fumbled passes by Yao and Cato that a normal player would have caught over the years that can be wiped off SF's record too......so no luck there.

Criticize what is wrong, not what you arbitraily feel like beating up on a player for.

miami has been playing well lately–they played very well last night. we played poorly, were on the end of a road trip, and have nothing to be ashamed of. LET IT GO.

I will consider a brick as a turn over. They are pretty much the same result.

EXACTLY! This is the book on the Rockets: you force them to try to beat you by hitting jumpshots. This is something they cannot do - the team is literally stocked with inconsistent, streaky shooters. SF has completely lost his shooting touch. Mobley is only on every 5th or 6th game. JJ shows why he's been on 10 NBA teams so far. Boki...well, enough said. Piatkowski comes from the great Clipper offensive systems of yesteryear.

This is the curse that the Rockets face and why I like many others here believe that it will take a revamping of the roster to address this weakness.

I think: You got to make the open shot if they double teamed your big guy. When Shark was double teamed, Kobe or Fisher has to make the outside shot. There was no way for rox to win like they played last night.

I am still believing in them !

When Yao was double- /treble teamed, the other Rockets were playing 4 to 3/4 to 2, but their jumpers wouldn't fall. They didn't pass the ball enough to Yao and continued jacking up bricks. That one of the causes of the loss. I don't know whether JVG noticed this or not but it seemed that little had been done during the game to try to pass the ball to the big guy. Again, when Yao shoots less than 15 and when the open jumpers' shots won't fall, the Rockets lose. They can't allow this to happen if they want to be in the playoff.

The rest of the schedule is tougher than what they had in the first half of the season. The Rox should notice that.

The sky is falling again?? No disrespect intended, ZRB, but do you have a doom-and-gloom template that you use to produce these posts year after year? The details change, but the theme remains the same. Kind of like a twisted Mad Lib for the terminally downtrodden.

You are doing exactly what you acused others of doing.
I said it worked both ways.
You are the one who tried to explain the missed shots away!

You can't go down that path 'cause there are plentry of passes from Francis that the other players either picked up off their ankles too.
    Practice what you preach!
