I think the Heat D looked really good tonight it was reminiscent of teh Rockets D when we were winning. Basically any drives to the basket there was lots of help.... And we werent knockin down teh open shots. so...we lose... oh well...we will recover
I think Steve realises that the jig is up and Yao is CLEARLY the best player on this team. He is having a hard time coping with that fact and it is showing up in his level of play (or lack thereof)
Only Mj & Yao cato' s FG is over 50%.,and almost every Heat's player 's fg% is voer 50%,except Grant.
We had open looks throughout the game, we just couldn't hit them. I'm not a SF hater but at times he was just making the wrong decisions on the court. The effort was there, we couldn't hit our shots, they made theirs, and Steve was inneffective tonight. I don't know what goes on in his mind on some of his decision making, he thinks this is streetball or something. No discipline.
You are right. Teams with good jump shooters kill the Rockets. One of the best jump shooting teams is coming to town on Wednesday. I expect Bibby to be jacking up shots all night. Peja will get his shots too. Yao can be strong in the paint on defense, but it won't matter if the the other team is taking wide open practice jumpers.
Umm... why is the Heat playing their starting line up right to the end?? It's a game to forget, hopefully it doesn't carry over to our next game. People mentioned enough of Francis' poor play already, but Jackson should also learn not to fire shots when you are dead cold from everywhere (1-12 shooting). -G'day-
This was one of those games. The back end of of back to backs in a 3 games in 4 night road trip. Not much energy and shots weren't falling. They took Yao out early and we really didn't do a good job of countering their fronting and doubleteams. Combine that with the Heat's unconscious shooting and it wasn't to be. Heat now 13-7 at home and they not many teams would have beat them tonite. They deserved to win. I'm not too concerned with this one- these kinds of games happen, EXCEPT for Francis who is a lost puppy right now. He's got to step up. At least it only counts as one loss. D R
I am so sick of being disappointed in this team year after year. Every time they start to look like a good team, they come up with a game like this. Once again, the Rockets have thrown away what could have been a step towards becoming elite. After being a loyal Francis supporter for his entire career, I've just about given up on him. All-stars do not come up with six point games in situations like this. The guy has become an embarrassment to the team. The Rockets just never change. It seems like they're blown out by Miami every year, and it always signals a collapse from playoff contention. Now the they play the Kings, aka the "owners" of the Rockets. Great. With Memphis coming on strong, and Denver still hanging around, this was a loss Houston couldn't afford. Not only did they lose, but they were crushed, by a sub-.500 team in the EASTERN conference. Good teams don't let that happen. They had a chance to win more than three in a row, for a change, and blew it. They had a chance to go above .500 on the road, and blew it. The Rockets would have had all the momentum coming into the Kings game, but instead, they were exposed as the mediocre team they've been for five years. Time for a change.
Not enough gas in the tank. JJ was really off tonight. The Heat forced the guards to win the game by jamming the middle. They couldn't come through. Back to reality. I was really jacked up after the win last night. Back to the doubter list.
Im not too disappointed with this loss... The Rox have played 3 games in 4 days I feel like their exhausted it happens. on a 3 game road trip 2 out 3 isnt too bad.. and Heat are better than their record they started with a bunch of people on the IL (Odom, CButler and others) and are starting to build momentum. I write the game off to exhaustion and that the Heat players wanted this game more badly I think to give Stan VG a win over his brother.. sheer determination. Our guys looked a step slow in everything they did.. lets forget about it and focus on the next game. J
The Rox were tired. They didn't have their legs. It happens from time to time. They were slow on defense because they were tired. They were missing wide open 3s because they were tired. I play pick-up basketball and somedays you have no legs and nothing goes in and you're a step too slow. If they can rebound against the Kings, everything will be aight and back on course.
I don't put money on games, but I suggest that anyone who can get the Kings as underdogs in Wednesday game to take the Kings. Jumpshooting teams of any caliber usually put the wood to the Rockets.
You need keep pessimistic, man. When I saw your post turned optimistic, I thought it was not good. Because even pessimistic king feel good about Rox, then Rox must feel the same way about themselves too and be satisfied. That is no good for them. They need compete every time on the floor.
