This was sad. The team definitely just lost the intensity and mechanisms they had been exploiting that led to such a great first half. Very common with the Rockets, but I really wanted them to pull this one out, and they should have. That said, after those quick egregious calls by the refs in the fourth, the team hit rock bottom. They shouldn't, but those calls we so bad and so close together, they felt like they were intended as a dagger to the back to tip the balance of the game. I didn't see the first Hawks game, which apparently had abhorrent calls as well. The Rockets should've played past it, but crap like that energizes the Hawks and makes the Rockets play more tepidly, because who knows what the calls are going to be anymore? Ugh. Sad loss for our guys. I hope they get over it, and shove it down the Grizzlies' throat tomorrow.
My only grip with Mchale tonight was late I'd like to have seen him force feed DMo. Ariza's post entry passing is embarrassing. How is that possible for a professional basketball player? His post entry passing gives me the same feeling as Ryan Bowen shooting
You're still taking that "coin flip" thing out of context and building a straw man out of it? Let it go.
Ya this should've been an EASY win against a team that has only lost 12 games ALL SEASON. Wtf was mchale doing out there coaching his way to a loss against the BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE ON THE ROAD SO FAR THIS SEASON W/O HIS TWO BEST PLAYERS AND A DEPLETED BENCH?!?!?!
Only over Morey's dead body  . .. he's gonna stick with the analytics. I just wished they'd run more plays in the post and slash to the basket. Jones is a terrific garbage man to pick up the misses, DMO can post up, as can Jsmith and harden, would be nice to utilize that game more...
I have been conditioned to cringe every time we take a mid-range jumper. I think what we were missing today was a rim attacker. I wouldn't even mind more d-mo in the post but our entry passes are just awful.
Patience. The Grizzlies have some toughies coming up(as do the Rockets in all fairness). If we win tomorrow night and beat the Pistons and Nuggets this weekend, we could lead the division as soon as late Saturday night.
