Yea - right now we stand to get the 3rd pick in the draft. Unfortunately, it doesn't look to be a good draft.
Yeah, definitely frustrating. And your right, what can you do? The mere fact that these guys are competing is good!
It's just so sad.......the team is cursed!! Injuries have totally decimated this team - the group we are trotting out might be able to compete in the NBDL..I said might I like the way Luther finished the game D R
Tanking in the NFL is a must if you're that bad.... in the NBA, the only thing the worst team in the league is guaranteed is the 4th pick. If the season ended today the Rockets would be assured a pick no worse than #6. Right now I'd say yeah - very safe bet.
Very true...right now we have a horrible mixture of players on the floor who are too old or too young to play well through out the entire game...good in spurts but they just can't pull it together for an entire game.
i don't care who we have out injured. this is the freakin' atlanta hawks! yeah, they have some good players but come on......this season just keeps on getting more and more frustrating by the minute, wake me up when it's over.
Teams in this losing streak: Hawks, Bobcats, Hornets....etc. We suck, badly right now. It's been a long time since I've felt this bad about the Rockets. This was the month that we were supposed to turn it all around too.
No, it isn't "good." The guys on the floor better be efforting. They are playing for their livelihoods. The 0-fer with T-Mac out is inexcusable. Seven or Eight NBA-caliber players led by an average-quality head coach should be able to back into a win every nine games or so.
Well, I think we only have: Howard, Wesley, Deke and Rafer who are surely NBA-caliber players. Ryen is the 10th to 12th man for any NBA team, Head is a rookie who has potential but not ready for big minutes, and the rest are NBDL-caliber. I think JVG is definately above-average NBA coach. But with the current rotation, you just cannot expect much. Maybe one win every 4 losses, that's about it.
Well our best player is Juwan Howard. And he matched up against Al Harrington, who simply outclassed him. I said it before that it would take a miracle for us to defeat even Atlanta, and I was right. We're by far the worst team in the NBA right now and there's *nothing* we can do about it. I'm going to the Mavs game Wednesday. I'm still hoping that T-Mac and Stro will return and we somehow win, but I wonder if we can even be competitive in that game. Good thing I'll have a hot date with me so I won't be too depressed.
I'm gonna write this for the third time in this thread. T-Mac isn't playing Wed. and he will only be re-evaluated Thursday.
With our record, finishing 2nd - 4th in the lotto would be probable - and VERY nice. Imagine being able to pick the best PF on the draft board, maybe a beast that could man the middle on spot occasions. Or trading the pick for a very good player. I'm sorry, but with the health of T-Mac in question now, let's "invest" in next year. Give Yao maximum rest - he will be busy this summer as it is. We then use the MLE to get guard help (and eventually trade Swift), and we're in great shape again. It's nine and a half of months of torture until then, but we must endure. Trading Swift may not reflect well on the organization after the sacrifice he made to get here. But I think we would have good cause here. We could also wait until the trade deadline next year to further prove himself. Yes, we are a good team even if we don't get the benefit of a high draft pick next year, but we need one more quality talent to truly give us a promising chance at titles in the next few years. Pain now for gain later.
Actually at this point if we don't make the playoffs I don't think anyone in their right mind should complain. I'd say let the guys play their hearts out, Yao comes back and we make a run. If by some miracle we make it, then the whole NBA will be worshipping at the doorsteps of Toyota Center. If not, it's nobody's fault. We get rewarded with a reasonable lottery pick and build for next season, sit back at home and watch Detroit win out for the championship.
It would be foolish to win even 1 more game. Right now, we have a shot at LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay or Adam Morrison. Any of those guys will help, and will do wonders for the financial health and competitive longevity of the team. Trade expirings for value. Don't give up the pick. Not even for Artest, or Peja, or whatever desperation deal for damaged goods comes up. Get the young, healthy, lotto guy cheap for 5 more years. Lose now, win big later.
Don't you realize once we get Sura back we'll go on a 500 game winning streak and win the championship? When we do, all the realists... I mean haters aint invited.
