You ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT...PERIOD !!!!!

 

I expect him to finally come off the bench.

 

It was weird because I was watching Jalen tonight and several times he was making his dribbling moves and he would have someone slow on him like Kennard or others and his first move would create 5-7 ft of separation and instead of shooting he'd do ANOTHER move and go into his step back when it wasn't needed at all!

It looks to me like Jalen is tying his shot into his dribble/step back moves which is a GIANT red flag imo.
You've GOT to be able to make your shot whenever you get enough room to get it off.
Jalen makes it soo hard on himself when he doesn't need to!
But regardless your shot HAS TO BE SEPARATE from your move to get there!
And Jalen seems to not do this at all.


IMO his jumper is soo broken it needs to be rebuilt this offseason!
He gets separation so easy on most anyone but it's like he needs to go through all his moves and then bricks it anyway!
He has no confidence whatsoever in his jump shot and something needs to be done about it.

Only thing I can think of is get the mechanics down right (elbow in, etc...) and just practice 1000 jumpers a day until it becomes muscle memory.
But NOT off of some dribble step back move.
Stationary jumpers!

But I don't know if Jalen has the will to practice what he needs to get better.

 

Tonight it was clear to me that:
1). Amen needs to be in the starting lineup
2). Brooks is his worst self if there aren’t good shooters on the floor
3). Jalen can’t continue as the starter post Allstar break.
4). We aren’t gonna win many games without Fred. This team doesn’t play well together without Fred

Jalen wants the flash. That's a huge part of his problem, and why he almost never makes anything easy for himself. You never see him take a regular lay-up. It's always some crazy twisty highlight attempt. Same with the step back. I'm not sure he has the patience to work on something as boring as a stationary jump shot.

 

Serious question here....what, in your mind, would you personally consider Bari's bar for success each game ? Winning is the top answer obviously.But, personally for him..what ?

Rebounds per game ?( this one's easy, it's 10)
Defense ? (he has guarded the 9th most ISOs in the NBA-allowing opponents to shoot only 32.7% and forcing turnovers on 13%..resulting in a stifling 0.79 ppp.)
How many points constitute a success? How many shots per game does he get?
Shooting % on 3's and over all FG%

I guess I see what Calvin sees last game....he wasn't getting any shots , so he said I'll go get some rebounds and score off them.

I was told Jalen Green was better without Fred lol

 

Fred-Brooks-Cam-Jabari-Sengun. Amen first one off the bench. Give him 25 mins.

 

I expect it doesn't matter because both Jalen and the Rockets realize a separation is coming this summer.

Even blowing up post-ASB probably won't be enough to keep him here.

 

if Jalen went off tonite you’d know exactly which accounts here would be loud af about it. He didn’t so they’re quiet. You can track the consistency of those posts by the consistency of his play. Inconsistent. Disappears. It’s a direct correlation. I don’t hate Jalen, but I wish he played for somebody other than my team. It’s enough already.

 

Yes. I was gonna say Amen but given a players name I didn’t want to confuse the issue.

 

It's very apparent that Green and Udoka are probably on borrowed time with each other. They don't seem to be a good fit together, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Jalen wasn't starting after the all star break. I also wouldn't be surprised if he earned the starting job back again by the end of the season. It's definitely going to come to a head at some point though.

 

Does anybody know anywhere that I can go and watch Rockets games from this season without downloading anything? Streaming only. I’ve missed a few games this year that I want to go back and watch

Fred is not going to be here forever, may that be injuries or may that be that he is not in the long term plans due to him wanting to continue chasing for bigger contracts.

Might as well get used to playing a different system.

 

First game I miss in the season but I'm glad miss it
