What would the Blazers want in return for Mason Plumlee?

 

For all their strengths the Grizlies are actually fatally flawed...even more so than the Rox. Thats why every top team except the Rox actually dont fear the Grizz and I honestly dont think the Rox should wasting time and energy on them either:
1. Grizz dont have that transcendental star, if you can put them in a bad place they wont get out of it because they dont have that guy they can rely on to bail them out. Closest to that is Conley but Conley isnt a superstar.
2. Apart from Conley, their perimeter players suck on offense, guys like Allen are total liabilities when it comes to shooting the ball.
3. Zbo cant defend, its not a coincidence Anderson exploded for 30 pts this is probably the first game he was guarded by a player worse than him on D.

So more "balanced" top teams dont fear Grizz because they can just stop conley and go zone to make the Grizz offense horrible and abuse Zbo on D on the other end. The problem with the Rox is they dont have that paint scorer to make ZBo pay, and their bad D actually enabled Memphis who normally has scoring problems to score a lot.

Next time just have Ariza lock down Conley, have Harden guard Allen, have everyone play zone and we should be fine.

Hopefully KJ and Brewer. They could use them sooner rather than later.

 

sure Harrell can jump high, but Capella is one of the quickest leapers in the game. he can jump up then land and still have time to jump up or contest the shot. its something you can't teach but can refine

 

this is true, they did a lot of the same things the spurs did against us. you can bet a lot of teams are going to copy pops, especially when hes successful.

honestly, our game plan should've been let gasol beat you and shut down everyone else.... hindsight is 2020, I mean who the hell saw the grizzlies hitting 20 3pointers

 

When I saw Ariza guarding Allen on some possessions I could not believe it. Having said that Allen was killing Trevor with his hustle plays and his attack on the offensive glass.

 

I want a rematch so freaking bad

 

Why is it that Vince Carter goes off like this whenever he plays against us?

 

Honestly, if they try to go shot for shot with Houston again, I don't know if they stand a chance. Look at what happened with the Warriors, they went shot for shot with them, only shot slightly better but somehow destroyed the Warriors... They made a crap ton more FT's and oddly, the Warriors missed a lot of them. The Grizzlies are one of the worst offensive teams in the league. They wont be able to keep up with the Warriors, Clippers, or Rockets in a 7-game series.

 

The grizzlies don't care about the offense side of the ball. They tolerate it, but they don't care about it. They only care about defense. The other thing, in case you want a grizzlies fan perspective is, that while the grizzlies are pretty bad on offense for most of the game, in the last 5 minutes of the game (or winning time), they are extremely efficient on that side of the ball, which is why they are 12-2 in games decided by 5 points or less, and also why Mike and Marc are among the top players in clutch stats.

One of problems with the grizzlies is that they don't try to blow teams out. In fact for 3 quarters, all they are doing is locking you down defensively until the game gets to the 4th quarter, which is a lot of it is laziness on their part, and they sometimes rely too much on their defense to bail them out.

As far as the 3 point shot, the grizzlies have improved their deficiency on that stat from last year. There was a time when teams would beat them by 20 points in 3 pointers alone. Now the margin is much more even due to the fact that Marc has got a green light, they also are starting Jam Green over zbo, who can mark threes, Mike obviously and Troy Daniels, and we hope that Parsons will also add to that. The grizzlies goal on 3 pointers really is to keep the margin close to even, but I have seen when the opponent is a good team where the focus on offense is better and you can get a game like you seen with the Rockets and GS before that.
