This thread is an embarrassment. Just people bickering back and forth after a win.

It's obvious that Yao need to work on his rebound just as Tmac need to work on his shoot percentage. Anything less than 10 rbs per game for Yao and 45% shooting percentage for Tmac is unacceptable.

I'd swear there are more rookies posting now. Oh well, since it's the regular season.......btw, not a bad win, but I thought we had the exact same score for a game last season too. Nice to see T-Mac shooting 6-15 (a big improvement over 8-24) and his free throws have improved (though only in one game), I'll wait until more games come out to see whether T-Mac can improve his shot selection.

I see the light ... at the end of a long dark tunnel: Tmac is starting to shoot FT well. It is a matter of time before his shooting picks up. Can't wait!!!

    Eternal optimist, I know. :D :D

Did I miss something, or did we just wreck the last two teams we played on the boards, 96-68 (on the road no less). Our rebounding hasn't been the problem. Our terrible shooting and basic offensive ineptitude has been the killer. As far as Yao is concerned, I don't care how much he rebounds as long as the team is winning the rebounding battle. All that other stuff is just stat-padding. And the only stats I care about are "W's."

You're going on a limb there. Gee, what can make you think that he will play well? Could it be 7 consecutive years of great play? Or are you some sort of psychic? :D

yeah, the first quarter today was a stiffling red jerseys on the board every time. but of course, then they get tired, before they cranked it up on 4th quarter again. Great team rebounding today. In fact, that's how we won, as our shooting % was really bad, and there were 22 TO's.

There is a bottom line here. durvasa is quite fair in presenting raw data, and A3PO is still fair when syaing straight faced (at least here) that Yao's passing is the most overrated aspect of his game.

As Rockets fans we have some dilemmas here. 1) Is t-Mac still T-Mac (and it sure doesn't look like it). 2) Has JVG ever been the right guy for Yao given his defensive and offensive schemes? And 3) Is taking a page out of the past and throwing everything on Yao now almost hypocritical?

I do think this bbs should be willing to consider that Yao can get us a ring in the future; that T-Mac can help in every way imaginable other than being the best player on the team and Yao's game is not being maximized even now.

JVG needs a new rhetorical ballgame - and quickly. We know Yao can play better, and I think tonight he really did. At some point that has to matter more than what else is happening around him. So far it doesn't.

    Yes, I agreed!
And Yao is not in shape yet, but he gets 24.75ppg/8rpg/1.75blk now.
Imagine what he will get when he gets his rhyme!! :)

I am worry about tomorrow game in Milwaukee. Our starter plays big time minutes tonight.
Our bench needs to step up and play well for us to have a chance to win in Milwaukee.

it's sad that mediocre teams like milwaukee cause concern.
and i believe the concern over the teams performance despite the win is deserved. if people wish to discuss the inadequacies of the team, they should be able to free from criticism. too many hypocrites.

One thing i fond was Battier hasn't been playing well in the second half..especially in the 4th quarters of games. This could be because he's playing too much. ANd i still hate rafer..his passes are so fast and inaccurate that they become a bad pass for the spot up shooter and lead to missed shots. For any1 who's a shooter out there..they know that you need good momentum from the pass to let off a good shot!

I use to like JVG when he coached the knicks, but im now realizing that he is TERRIBLE................... he has steve novak, possibly the best shooter in the nba, PLAYING 0 MINUTES???????? while scott padgett is on the court stinking it up, wow................. i guess he'll be able to adjust to the NBA game quicker that way???!!!.............oh and tmac is slooooooooooooowly coming back, give him a week and a half
