Actually, they were trying to make a conscious effort of giving Yao the ball throughout the whole game. Many of the passes either got stolen, deflected or knocked away from Yao. Yes there were some bad passes but the effort to get Yao the ball was definitely there the whole night.

Yao did not even try to fight off Wright. That is what is frustrating (same for last game against DIAW).

Yao was fighting for position. If you noticed at the end of the game, Yao was no longer being fronted. Thus the reason why Yao got the ball and was able to convert.

Remember to guard Yao effectively and completely, you must front him, or double him without the ball as we do not have any plays other than the pick and roll which get him the ball.

Tonights loss belonged to a combination of many things. to single out yao, is not fair. DA had a dumb TO , Swift commited a dumb offensive foul and so on. i actually thought we played ok, but if we had a mega scorer like tracy, we would have blown them out.

Did you stupid watched the game? Yes, Yao was not good on offensive inthe first three quaters, but he contribute more on defensive. In the final quater, Yao's performance was perfect on both defensive and offensive. Although we lost the game the team is getting better than previous several game. We will finally recovered after lost so many games, I am sure.

I seriously doubt if you watched the game. Maybe you didn't watch from the right angle.

Well, that's more of JVG's doing that Yao is just a low post scorer. We don't have a choice right now, Yao has to be the low post only scorer, to make perimeter guys' life easier.

if he fought early, he would be out of gas down the 4th. YAO was doing good on both side.
the missed layup killed us, but he was fresh!
most of passes you mentioned, I called them FAKE pass

You've been spouting the same nonsense for a while now about Yao not fighting for position against a fronting defender. Yao has ALWAYS had problems with fronting defenses.

It has nothing to do with effort you dumbass. It's just plain difficult for him to deal with shorter, stronger guys in front of him.

Please watch the game. You make it sound like every pass that went to Yao was deflected. They were not. Most of the passes were horribly bad. Yao did miss his usual amount, but Yao's inability to catch most of these passes were not his fault this time.

Yao tries to fight off Wright, but just doesn't know how. This is something we will have to live with for a while as fronting defenses beat Yao. And you just can't fight off a fronting defense. You either get the position or you don't. And if you don't, there are only 2 options for the team. Lob the ball in or run something else. In our case the pick and roll.

hoestly, the game in this forum is more interesting:
    from both team:

shooting: you make some and miss some
assist: bounce pass, over the head, or whatever
rebound: you grab some and miss some
    turnever: who does not?

lead change all the time for any game, but you win some and lose some

The best parts: there are some good refs when they show up...

and the audience has more fun here than watching the da*ned game

Didn't I see Barry guarding battier on some plays? Big mismatch.

BTW anyone figure out how grizz shot 78 FGA's and we only got 60? Going thru off rb's, steals, to's etc, I can count 10 differential but not 18. Did we have 8 broken plays that did not count as to's? Now we did have 10 extra FTA's - so were they fouling us when we went to the basket all the time?

so how do they end up with 20 fouls and we had 22? we foul off the shot more often? noncalls on the grizz?

Right---That's why Wright scored 4 pts, with 0 blocks and 5 fouls....

Wow, Wright really torched Yao there that was just like the game against Diaw

Im dissapointed in everyone except for Head.
This was the first "winable" game in a long time in my book.
I dont mind losing to San Antonio, Detroit, hell even Dallas given our current situation, but I thought we could muscle out a win tonight.

We have got to start turning this thing around quick. This hole is getting deeper.

Hopefully Bullard and [van]Beeel[/van] werent lying (trying to sell tickets) about T-Mac coming back tomorrow night.

So Yao had smart turnovers and DA and Swift had "dumb" turnovers? How do you make that distinction?

Stromile's offensive foul was a good foul. He was trying to be physical to get position in the post (something that Yao didn't do all night long). Battier flopped a little bit and they called a fould on Swift.

Yao had 3 offensive fouls just like that one from Swift. I don't understand why you are calling the man dumb.

That was a 360 spin move by a 7'6 in traffic. You being 6'2, let see if you could make a 540 and still lay it up easily in traffic. :p

They didn't have to torch him. They shut him down, so they were just as effective as Yao in the last two games. The problem is they're 5th options on their respective teams. Yao's our franchise player

No, yao missed a Very easy layup, but he was'nt the only culprit in tonights loss. if you think i'm a blind Yao supporter, go check the other threads where i have roasted him time and time again. but i'm objective enough to see that it was'nt all his fault tonight.
