You should calm down, my post was in response to someone posting Jones stats. People keep acting like he's a no impact player, he's a legit PF in the NBA. The numbers he has right now is good enough for any team that doesn't have a all-star PF starting in that spot. He's athletic , plays defense, hustles on the board...if you think that won't make a difference then I don't know what else to tell you. You think he adds NOTHING to our rotation of bigs? He'd keep Black on the bench longer, that's already adding something.

This team had no shot tonight, obviously. Said that all throughout the thread, that the schedule was pretty hard for them.

You talking about front court depth but no team is built perfectly. Miami won rings without even a center. Every team has a hole somewhere on their roster.

What really killed us tonight were the flat games of Dwight Howard and Harden. Usually the best player on the court wins his team the game, that wasn't Harden or Howard tonight, that's the biggest factor in being a contender and just winning games period.

Jones certainly helps our depth though, which is what so many people are saying is our issue. So to say he can't add much to the team seems wrong, because he starts and puts players like Dmo and Black back in their original roles.

Rocket never have cores together to build the chemistry and harmony.

For a good to great team, it's always the bond and chemistry between the players, coach.

Sad that players are simply trading pieces for this organization. The intangible side of getting a group of players like family is never in the plan.

But even there's good chemistry in the team, I'd surprised the team can go far under Kevin Mchale.

As previously mentioned this team struggles and will continue to struggle against Memphis, much like OKC, due to their physicality and height inside. Not worried about last 2 games but would be worried if facing either in playoffs. Doesn't help that all shooters seem to be in a funk.

You obviously didn't know that as you tried to dismiss KlutchQT's clear point about the first 11 games by saying it's the same competition over the full season. Made no sense.

The Grizzlies announcers did actually state this coming out of halftime.

Something along the lines of "I just got done speaking with Howard and he was pretty upset with the Asik trade".

I guess a little bit -- I thought a couple of shots were poor (one in particular where I thought Beverley was open on the right side for a layup on the fast break and Harden I think shot a three) -- but I'm a believer in the three-point philosophy, so long as they're good shots. Ariza and Harden should be better than we've seen the last few games.

But they need an offensive spark and a big man on this roster that they don't currently have. Not easy things to acquire.

I think the last 3 games have exposed us a bit, you don't have to double Dwight, and you guard the perimeter and gum up the lane to stop Harden's drive.

We need a 2nd creative player on the perimeter.....Ariza is a good 3 and D, but not good on dribble drives, DMo can't find his place, and Bev is an occassional driver but is more of a 3 and D guy too.

We are simply flawed - it would help to have TJones put backs going and his passing and dribbling from that spot.

But IMO, we could really use a PG that can drive and shoot, maybe Canan should be playing more?

Thanks, I missed that. I guess it's understandable... a lot of pressure on Dwight w/ no real backup.

Maybe Dwight should learn how to play a proper post up?

We don't need a PG that can drive and shoot, as we have James Harden doing so already.

The team has been playing with 2 PG in the previous 2 seasons. James Harden is always the PG who drive, shoot and making plays, while the other PG is to help defend and shooting 3s.

No. You criticize everyone that provides insider insight on this board. I have no reason to provide you with proof of anything. You wouldn't believe it anyways.

Hey, Root immediately shows a replay of the game, nice!*

*but not for this game since it's terrible, but hey you can watch now out of morbid curiosity if you missed it.

Outclassed. Their starters beat ours by 10 and their bench beat ours by 16

I am listless what to do because obviously Memphis was always elite these years but waited till the Spurs got older and OKC got injured.

This was their window of opportunity.

The team has a very good roster last season with the only missing piece on the coaching.

It's automatically a serious title contender with a better coach.

But turn out the management decided to let got the 2 years team chemistry built and super bench they got.

Also: I'd rather be exposed now than at end of season - Morey has a number of assets at his disposal to improve this team, he just needs to know where our primary weaknesses lie.

I know, apparently he hates it, but is SOOO good at it....so much more effecting in PnR than in post ups.
