The schedule has definitely been a factor, but they couldn't hit shots against Philly or a depleted OKC team either... they seem to be in a deep, deep shooting funk right now. So the question is, as shooters, are the Rockets closer to the team that shot 45% from deep in the first 6 games, or closer to the one that has shot 20% from there in the last three?

Tonight was the first night where their defense looked completely broken. But it's the shooting (which opens up things for Dwight and Harden) that is concerning me the most.

Having said that, I'll stick with what most of us have been saying since before the season -- this team needs to find a player or two for their bench. Their starting lineup is good, but they are stretched very thin right now.

    Hey dair! :)

    No problem! Here:

Joey's a good defensive big, we're just so deep that we just can't find any playing time for him! I have confidence he'll help us down the stretch!

Milk Hair, he's doing a good job out there! We're off to a 9-2 start; we can't win them all. I have confidence we'll bounce back from this.

PS: We still have some tickets available for Wednesday's game against the Lakers. It's on TNT. We'd like to see you all out there!

    Thanks.

    :)

Definitely more turnover related than shooting 3 point related . How many points did they score off turnovers just in the first half ? My guess is 10+ . There is also a marked difference between jacking up 3's and shooting a "good/open" 3. I'm all in favor of the latter . When ball movement creates an open shot , it's often the best choice to shoot that shot even if it's a 3. However, when there is limited ball movement and you have to take contested threes that's not good. The problem isn't the type of shots it's the quality of the shot . This is driven by a lack of ball movement which was made worse by our turnovers .

Especially when our 6th man Kostas is shooting less than 30% from the field.

I doubt they would match up against each other. Did you mean Z-Bo? I bet Jones would give us more than 6 and 2 (see Dmo).

    McHale:

They beat the hell out of us. Numbers don't matter. We turned it over early. They beat us to the ball, turned us over, easy baskets off turnovers, easy baskets in their halfcourt set. They beat the hell out of us.

Better plan when they're swarming James?

    Move the ball.

Gotta make the right play. It was our offense. Offense disintegrated.

    Need time to practice?

We have guys who have never played in the NBA before. They weren't ready for how fast they were on top of you.

Our guys were not ready for their speed. They overwhelmed us.

LOL at this idiotic Morey hate. Apparently he only wants to shoot threes and hates midrange shots. That's totally consistent with his desire to get Chris Bosh. Or not

i think we will break out of this slump, as long as they can keep the defense sharp i can see them consistently shooting about 40% from deep. They need to get more fastbreak points off of turnovers to get themselves going.

I would say the problem is from Jeremy Lin, who has no handles, turnovers prone, useless.

Seems like we should stick with the HnH PnR-- just "Run it again!"-- surrounded by 3-pt shooters. Straying from that leads only to pain and shame. I reckon Harden's nicked up, but he'd be spending less time on the floor if he'd just stick to the basics instead of taking it against 2-4 defenders by himself in the relentless pursuit of foul calls.

Even he is in Lakers now, his negative influence is still on us.
