Bev is a good defender, but no where near elite for his position.

Some of you guys are tough on Canaan. I hope you all celebrated when he finally scored.

    Alligator arms.

Defensive instincts are not good enough.

Not enough bulk for the 5 spot (though this can be possibly improved.)

He didn't play good D at the EC2013. He definitely is not playing good D in the preseason.

In the offensive end he looks smooth, though.

He scores well in the post and his interior passing is good/excellent. That's about it.

He cannot defend the 5 spot. He cannot anchor a defense. His boxing out is terrible and most of his rebounds are because he is the tallest dude on the court -> not gonna cut it against good teams.

I completely disagree with most of your points. Alligator arms (and you stole that one from Carl) maybe, but only in the context of NBA players. Seven foot with a wingspan of six-eleven wingspan.

D-Mo is currently seven feet and 263+ pounds. He looks every bit as big as Asik.

In the Euroleague he looked just dandy. I watched them all. His preseason defense is much improved from last season. No one knocks him off the block.

This game proves Lin should be the 6th man b/c his FG 4/11 and 3pt 1/5 only.

This team is so good... and Memphis looks terrible.

We have a lot of depth, best SG in the NBA, best C in the NBA, two top 5 players in the NBA... WCF here we come.

And what do you have to say about the preseason games that he did pretty good?

So do we know our roster at this point? Cold-blooded Reggie Williams didn't get to play; hope he finds a team down the road.

    Starters:
    Beverely
    Harden
    Parsons
    Howard
    Asik

    6th Man:
    Lin

    Key Reserves:
    Garcia
    Cassipi
    Motiejunas

    Bench/D-League:
    Terrence Jones
    Ronnie Brewer
    Aaron Brooks
    Greg Smith
    Isiah Caanan
    Robert Covington

    Cut:
    Reggie Williams
Marcus Camby (bring him back as a AC/Big-Man Coach?)

There is no point baiting the LOHs or the ABJs. The argument of who should come off the bench was pointless to begin with. The organization wanted Beverley to start all along. Beverley was playing with the other starters in scrimmage more often than not. You knew the Lin benching was coming unless Beverley suddenly sucked. And then there has been this alternating start bull**** which is finally broken today. If you are still keeping your Lin fan card hoping to see Lin starts, you can shred it already.

An elite defensive point guard is less valuable than an elite defender at ANY other position anyway.

Yet if Lin coming off the bench means he gets to match up against shooting guards more often, it might actually be a good thing... as long as he still gets roughly equal minutes to Beverley.

In other words...Asik won't be traded.

I would argue that point guards in general are less valuable than any other position... especially with how many ball dominant 2's and 3's are in the league now.
