How much more for us to suffer before JVG is fired. Whatever he is preaching is not working for us. His only success was to convert our team from Knick to Magic.

So have you guys decided: Carol Dawson, Jeff Van Gundy, Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady?

Who is going to represent the Rockets in the lottery? :D

Laugh all you want, it's not over until it's over. Plus, how can you forget the most athelic guy on our team: Swift?

I am out of town these days and "missed" the last 2 rockets games. Just managed to get a pc to check the results, obviously, I am dissapointed. We were not even close at the end of the game.

How's Yao playing in this Grizzlies game? From his and other player's stats, they are not looking good. Someone in this board said he is slow and how about others?

Although I am a Yao fan, I often feel that when Yao is on the court, the team rotation is kind of slowed down and I believe our players are affected. Hayes and Baxter were crazily grabbing rebounds even when we were facing Pistons. Baxter did not earn a minute this game, Hayes played 12 minutes with zero point. Alston, Wesley and Swift all looked bad in their stats. I am okay if one or two of our players could not make their shots in one game but it appeared in this season that nearly EVERY players in our teams were playing bad when Yao was on the court, but they were playing well JUST a couple of games ago? What happened?

We did have a five game winning streak when he was in. I think it just takes players time to get used to Yao since Rockets don't have another good low-post players (JH is so-so on low post).

Hi MemphisX, haven't heard of you quite some time...

Memphis is looking good now but your team is not going into WCF this season coz Pau Gasol's beard sucks, the league just won't allow it. That affects the TV ratings.

Honestly, I have not had big hope in winning a playoff spot this season. All I want is our players playing well in every game, win or loss. And they did played very well, in my opinion, even when TMAC and Yao were both out. But suddenly, they are in 3 game lossing streak now and these 2 games were not even close at the end. It has been a very long time I did not read a praise of our offensive play in the game threads and that is sad. I do believe our team gets the talent we needed, they just have to execute the game plans well.

BTW, instead of asking 4-5 men to get used to Yao, perhaps Yao should adjust himself a bit, perhaps our tactics on the offensive side should adjust a bit? Yao has sat long enough to watch his teammates playing and he should have a very good idea the characteristics of every one in his teams and I really believe he is the kind of smart player that know how to give "support" to his teammates.

This is not up to Yao, it's up to JVG since he is the one who decides on tactics. Plus, it's not Yao who cost this game. Well he did poorly on FT too. Overall it's 3pt shooting and FT that cost Rockets the game. If you look at the stats, Rockets outrebound Memphis by 8 offensive rebounds, usually that will give you the win.

I have calmed down from the lost now. Let's focus on the positives here :p: Considering Yao hasn't played for 21 games and Memphis is a pretty good defenseive team, he did well in his 1st game back. Though he played 2 minutes less than his average pt, he got the average FG attempts: 14. If not for his poor FT, his per minute stats is right about his season average.

I think as a Rockets fan, at this time, I will just concentrate on the players and team chemistry development and don't worry about the playoff (that would be too depressing ;)) If you lower your expectation enough you are bound to be pleasantly surprised. :)

I dunno, something about the team we're putting out doesnt match our offensive sets. We have the ability to be a very fast uptempo team...I've seen glimpses here and there that make me wanting more. We see the way Skip and Head fly down the court, and im pretty sure TMac, Jho, Hayes, Swift, etc can and are willing to be a fast team. We mix that with the existing sets and we can be dangerous. When the shots arent falling lately like they have been, just run and see what happens :) .

Is Nelly still out there and interested in coaching? True, we're going to suck bad on defense if he ever coaches us, but the guy is a guru on the offensive side of the game...

Or, we can keep him as strictly a defensive coach and hire Nelly to coach offense...you know, kinda like how football teams do it with the OC and the DC. ;)

Would be a dream, but why isnt Les or CD thinking of this? Is it because JVG's pride will get in the way?

...well, obviously he is in danger of losing his 20 plus minutes because he is being outplayed by 2 rooks we picked up off the development league. This from a #2 pick in the draft? And yes, he WAS supposed to eventually be our starter at the PF, play some backup center, etc. I don't see him being here for very long.

I was kind of thinking Rick Adelman after he gets fired later this year. I wouldn't mind seeing what Yao and T-mac could do in the Princeton Offense.

I'm far from a "JVG is ruining Yao because he puts him in the low post" guy, but it just frustrates me so much that when the opponent throws a front on Yao, the offense completely shuts down and goes straight to hell.

Looks like we should have traded for Tmacs old friend Mike Miller instead of sign Stromile Swift. Can we return him?

lol. that would be crazy. we should at least consider giving nelly a job as an assistant coach to help out on the offense.

we should just trade juwon howard, david wesley, and rafer alston for rasheed wallace, rip hamilton, and chauncy billups. then maybe we would be ok.
