Why are we missing so many wide open 3-pointers?

I am sorry but Rafer is too inconsistent. He is going to be abused defensively on most nights. And his 3 point shooting isnt very strong to complement Yao/Tmac combo.

I should add, the only reason he might consider him a lock into future plans is because with the length of his contract he is not getting anything better in return. More like he is stuck with it.

Since it's a team game, the whole idea is to have the two superstars attract attention to get open shots for the role players, but when the role players can't hit jack **** from their open jumpers, what ends up happening is defenses focusing in on McGrady and Yao and thus it negates the whole process and the entire system.

JVG's system is entirely dependent on the role players knocking down shots, it's no coincidence that we got hot last season ONLY when our role players were shooting lights out.

McGrady and Yao are the building block, but in a league with increasingly deep rosters and a bunch of talented players on those rosters, two players aren't going to carry the day anymore; mid-90's basketball is over and done with, even Shaq-Kobe couldn't win all alone.

a random question, and maybe it's just because we blow goat balls right now.

but why in the hell can't tmac make a three?

i've yet to see tmac make any significant portion of his threes unless he's just on fire.

Is it me or is every single offensive position a PnR with MCGady and then just dare him to go 1-on-5 since there is zero ball movement or motion on offense whatsoever?

Seriously, let's try a few new plays here, it wouldn't ruin anything the way things are going.

As for Swift, I will never doubt Jerry West again, ever!

A Stromile Swift dunk with a bird sign would go down pretty sweet right about now. Especially if it puts the Rockets ahead.

    Hey, I can dream.

I just don't get it why people keep on saying JVG is smart and he is the top 5 coach in the NBA blah blah blah...If you need the right players to fit in your system instead of designing the right system for the players, you suck as a coach. Period.

So both Atkins and Miller go off on the Rockets for near-career highs. Ugh.

I've been saying this for some time. The entire NBA knows this offensive set. Its the only one they have seems like. My old high school could defend it. Just double Tmac and push him toward the half court line.

JVG apparently thinks this will work.
