I think it might be because Mo Taylor had just drained a jump shot and it counted along with the foul

Hueby is one of the most disciplined coachs there is. And because the Griz don't have a ton of talent, they rely on the 10 man roation. That also means that their starting FIVE are ALL weapons. Everyone on the Griz are allowed to take the shot within the offense. (Thank god we took out Cato and put in Padget).

It's because of this "FIVE man attack" the Griz make the Rockets look clueless about which player to guard. And then (as you said) because the Griz's forwards are soooo active, they get those free offensive rebounds.

The Griz might not be a power house, but the are well schooled.

Because MO-T made a jumper as that foul occured.

Its just like a three-point play, but the guy who was fouled shoots the one foul shot.

WOW...Tie game and we haven't really played all that well. Then again, we might be lucky that Padgett was on fire. But I think the Rockets are adjusting to the Grizzlies' game and it looks like the refs are gonna call the holds and grabs on Yao. We have to hope Miller cools down and stick with Taylor on Gasol for most of the game (or double). Great to see Stevie throwing those sweet passes.

MoT's shot counts and Yao shoots the one.

    Danny Schayes?

There were 2-3 end of the bench-type centers that gave Hakeem some trouble, and I think Danny was one of them. Ostertag is, of course, the most famous of the group.

Listening to this halftime show in Memphis, imagine if the Rockets PA ANNOUNCER had to do this production.

    It would sound HORRIBLE!!!!

Tim... this is the criteria you should use to hire a PA guy... not somebody who is funny and make corporate promos entertaining... but somebody who SOUNDS proffesional.

Man these announcers are so biased towards the Grizzlies. First comment about Francis was even when he tries to pass he shoots. But he's been passing beautifully tonight. I hope he keeps it up in the second half. Then Thompson kept b****ing about Yao not being agressive enough. Well jeez, it's hard to do that when your on the bench. I believe all his points have been hard dunks on the Memphis defenders and FTs. Plus our front court is putting them in foul trouble. 7 or 8 fouls totalled from Wright, Swift, and Jake. Then we got Gasol in foul trouble. I think that's agressiveness right there. Mobley and JJ are having an off game offensively and we'll really need them to start hitting from the perimeter to open up in the inside for Yao and MoT. Padgett's and our bench in general was a great pick up for the Rockets, and even then the announcers couldn't give the Rockets credit. The only one that was even defending our guys was Kerr meanwhile Thompson and the other old fart were talking about Yao's lack of agression while he's on the friggin bench, and how Memphis is totally dominating the game. Then the moment we make a run towards the end, I swear I could hear crickets chirping they were so quiet. I really hope we win, because it's these kinds of announcers that really made me remember the championship days of the Rockets. Every series was against them. From Marv Albert's biasness towards the Knicks in the Finals to the media's hyping of DRob, and Shaq. They so hated to give the Rockets their credit, and right now I feel that exact same way. I so hope we win because it was just be bliss to shut these guys up.

Its funny how "Giving Hakeem trouble" would only mean he would get 24-28 points instead of 30+.

Man... just wait till one of our superstars becomes that consistent.

Nope...Mark Eaton. Ostertag got to Hakeem only in the last couple of years. Mark Eaton would block Hakeem's shots without even jumping, seemingly every time they played.

The best stat of the game for the Rockets for the 1st half:

    14 assists
    4 TOs

Cat needs to realize that when he is not hot, he needs to pass more. And the a few times he tried to pass, they were just horrible.

We can beat Memphis in the 2rd half.

Well he has no issue passing to Mo Taylor.. two perfect post passes so far to MoT. Not even a thought about it... just whipped it in there.

Thanks. I think Hakeem wanted to elbow him in the face many times.

Thanks! I thought that a three-point play can only be given to the same player.

My bb knowledge is so poor....:p

Eaton wouldn't fall for Hakeem's fakes, dribbles, and general array of moves. He'd stand up straight as a tree, and let Hakeem try and dance around him all day with the ball. He gave Hakeem fits.

Well the passes that have been inside to MoT was low bounce passes, since that was the only way to make an entry pass in the paint to him. Making a bounce pass to a guy that's 7'6 isn't wise, so I'm glad they're not trying to do that with him. Man I really hope we win this one. It'd be huge.
