That would involve Yao actually getting touches. Since Yao isn't going to ask for any, AFAIK, it depends on his teammates getting him touches. He's been open several times so far without getting a pass.

We'll see how the rest of the game goes but it seems Yao is indeed becoming a role player for the Rockets. Interesting.

Minnesota just lost again....so if we lose and I hope we don't we will at least still be in the Top 8.

Not that bad of a half... we'll make adjustments on the defensive end in order to create more havoc when they're shooting (right now, we're just running at them... we need a little bit quicker rotations).

Also, our offensive intensity should pick up... since they're trapping on the pick and roll, just spread the court and let Tracy drive and dish.

Yao will never be able to reach his potential if the refs don't let him play.

Guy drives, Yao goes straight up, they call a foul 100% of the time. What do they want from him? Yao gets no calls.

Big dunk by Swift on Yao. He has hops.

Yao is playing decent. He actually made a set shot jumper.

Yao is playing passively and having no fun, no energy.
Rox lost the big guy after this season.

I was kind of surprised that we didnt try to go to Yao more when Swift was on him. In that type of matchup, one of the guys is gonna pick up fouls, and we didnt really try to exploit it. Then again, maybe we've given up on going to Yao against the Grizzlies fronting D. They do it better than most teams in the league.

Yao is once again screwed by the refs tonight. Two times, a smaller player jumps into him, drawing the foul. Both times, Yao went straight up. Kerr agreed that that shouldn't be a foul.

I saw foul on that play. Yao was in the circle underneath the basket. Referees always look at the circle. If the defender is in the circle, it's usually a blocking foul.

JVG clearly sees no need to get Yao involved ... as long as the team is winning fine but we'll see.

A player is entitled to his space. If Yao goes straight up, it should not be a foul. Dikembe does it all the time. The only difference is an issue of respect.

I have this feeling too. :(

Good for him, bad for Rockets.

JVG has gone to another extreme. Guys should involve Yao
more and play a mix of half-court and fastbreak.

Unless he's retiring, or we cut him, we already exercised the option on him for next year.

In the first half, Yao touched the ball in the front court 5 times.

yeah but he only played like 10 minutes

I think we do need to go to him a bit more in the second half though

13 mins, 5 touches, 3 shots, you can't say it was too little.
