We beat the Mavs and Spurs, coming off of 2 mediocre shooting games against the Nets and Spurs which we won. I expect the Rox to come out like offensive tigers and put the whupass on the Grizz. Yao and T-Mac go off for a combined 68 points in a blowout.

Yao will finally have a good offensive game with 26 pts and 11 rbs. T-Mac puts up 25 and Rockets pull out a close win over Memphis.

    Rockets 103
    Grizzlies 98

Deke will clamp down on Gasol, just like he did against Timmy D last night.

Our D will be the winning factor in this one.

    Rox win by 6pts.

The number of fouls Yao gets is a measure of how aggresive he is. If he gets less than 5 fouls a game, Rockests will lose.

Yao, work you @$$ hard to get 5 fouls or foul out. Do not worry about your play time on the court, deliver hard fouls and knock down someone on the other team, get two technicals and point your middle finger at the refs.

Rockets win when Yao points his middle finger at the refs.

It's going to be a tough game.
Yao has to step up. The Rockets' guards are going to be outplayed definitely.

I wish TMac will take a backseat and control the game by feeding Yao more.

    Yao gets 35pts, 15 reb, 5 blks
    TMac 24 pts, 7 rb, 3 stl, 10 asst

    Rox 89
    Griz 76

    Rockets lose.

TMac 10-28 from the floor for 28.
Yao 6-8 for 16 and fouled out in the 4th quarter on a block on Gasol.

The board roars and deems Yao a wussy since he does not demand the BALLs!

Yao always has problems with Gasol. Given his recent deep slump, and Grizzlies are playing well now, it's gonna be really tough for the rockets. But what the hell, I still hope they can fight through it and come away with a win.

    96 : 92, Rockets.

Didn't we play them on MLK day last year?

Has Rox-Griz become an MLK day tradition? LIke Lions and Cowboys playing home games on Thanksgiving? Sounds good to me.

I probably should ask this in the NBA Dish.

Does the NBA have any traditions? I guess like the NFL Thanksgiving Day game and.......I don't know, MLB's records maybe? I can't think of any MLB traditions but it seems like everything in Baseball is sacred.

There's always a Christmas day game or games that usually features a marquee matchup, usually involving the defending champ, this dates back to the 80's when there was a memorable multiple OT game between the Knicks and Celtics on Christmas. Other than that there aren't many that I can think of that are formal ones.

this is a important game as the grizzles are right behind us in the standings. I hope Yao finally gets out of his slump and goes for atleast 25pts 12 rebs 2 blks. Doubtful since Yao seems to struggle against the Grizzles. McGrady needs to contro his shooting nad take smart shots but he needs to take over this game and bring in Sura and Wesley who hopefully make their shots. hope J. Howard continues his awesome play as of late nad makes shots so they cant double yao everytime. Well going to be a good game. GO ROCKETS.. i say rockets win by 6
    96-90

I think the Rockets are llike 4-1 when I chip in my prediction so here goes. The Rockets have found their rhythm as of late. Yao didn't fully bounce back from his horrible game against the Nets. McGrady is just in the zone. Rockets win 101-100

opening day seems to usually have at least one rematch of the conference finals and christmas day is always the most marquee matchup they can find, thus shaq and kobe this year. other than that, i can't think of any other thing the nba does annually.
