ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Clippers 5/8/2015 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 3)

I'm a long time lurker on ClutchFans but I finally made my account and for my first post I just want to say...

BEAT LA! Let's go Rockets.. Take care of business and get a huge win tonight.

 

The Rockets played well on the road all year, I expect nothing less than a great effort from them tonight, and a win.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned pump fakes by Dwight, and the lack of them. I agree. Jordan goes up to block every time on the first motion. Kevin McHale was a master of the up and under in his day, its hard to believe Dwight has not been tutored on this very effective post move. I'd like to see him try it.

Harden is going to go off tonight, bank on it.

 

No turnovers, make free throws, beat LA easy.

 

Interesting stat: Rockets and Clippers are tied for 2nd best road record (26-15)
only behind warriors (28-13)

Still unclear but it's clear that he went through a on the court workout yesterday and had no issues so he'll play tonight watch.

My heart just sank. Should we just go ahead and pencil Harden in for 4 free throws all game and Howard to foul out by halftime... smh

 

After rockets got 64 free throw attempts last game I expected this. We are due for a hot shooting night though.

 

Or the NBA could play reverse psychology on the nation and call more/just as many fouls for the Rockets to counteract the thought that the refs won't call fouls for the Rockets because of what the media is saying. Let's hope for that.

at this point, i not only think paul will play, i also want him to play.

to beat an opponent in a playoff series, you don't want a match-up w/ their best player missing. as a fan of the game, i am a little curious to see how paul responds to the injury. also curious to see if paul coming back is an overall + or - for the clips.

 

Enough with the Mauer conspiracy theories, people. He reffed Game 2 vs the Mavs and the Rockets won that one. Not to mention the game at OKC a month ago that they also won. Yes, he screwed us against Memphis, but he's given us a fair shake since then.

The one we wanna avoid at all costs is Tony Brothers. He was clearly calling Game 5 in Dallas' favor in the first half. But Mauer and Joey Crawford have not been an issue for the Rockets thus far this postseason.

The Clippers have media availability at 12:50. Hopefully Doc gives us some indication of Paul's status. He will probably throw some misdirection until closer to game time.

I think he's playing tonight and will be completely inept on defense.

 

He doesn't need to be good with our pg's....hopefully Terry will have a throwback night!
