Luther was a non-factor in the game. He took one shot, missed, had one assist, and one foul. He was pretty good in the previous game, but I agree that he should stop playing the point for the rest of the season & the playoffs.

I'm the one person besides you who defends Rafer! :D Yeah, his shooting sucks, but he's not that bad otherwise.

Wellll, Cat was definately pissed off not to have 3 fts. Look at his last ft, it is more like throw than shoot.

If Lucas can be an efficient scorer and not the hog the ball too much, I'd like him to eat away a bit at Luther's minutes when Rafer isn't on the court. I have zero confidence in Luther Head as a point guard.

Did you guys know that almost 80% of the public bet on the Rockets compare to the clip?

Line started at -2 up all the way to -3.5, people who got -3.5 are jumping all over the place, and want to throw a party for the cat who missed two free throws and foul Yao meannesses.

    900th post!!!!!! 100 away from 1000!!! Brilliant!!!

On another note, I really wonder what was said during the exchange between Cat and JVG after that foul call at the end.

So we're lucky the refs made the right call?

    Okay.

just got back from the game and here are a few observations

    1) tmac drove at will and any time he wanted to but he HAS to convert those layups. most of his misses are from damn layups. i can see that he shied away from physical contact when he drove. several times he did that and the ball got away from him and thus bad possessions. if he improved on that, his fg% would be MUCH MUCH better. other than that, he controlled the offense for us pretty good.

    2) yao was much better but it seemed like he just became invisible after that brand's block. we didn't go to him at all after that play it seemed like. but rebounding and defense, he was better. offensively he was better. but the refs didn't call anything for yao or for the team.

    3) rafer's shot is UGGLY UGGLY UGGLY up close. he can't even make 50% of them in freaking warm ups.

    4) seems like luther's mins will be decreased as tmac's minutes seem to go up.

    5) LOTS LOTS of rocket fans. tmac and yao fans everywhere. :D

we didn't play well i thought. but we won so that's a good sign. tmac has to convert those layups CMON.

How did Tmac and Yao almost costed the game for us?

Tmac has missed a few shots at the end. But you can't expect him to hit all the clutch shots every game. He didn't help to win the game in clutch time. But he didn't almost cost the game either.

As for Yao, more than one person has already pointed out that Yao was not the one who fouled Cat. As for the handoff to Rafer, that might not be the best idea. But Rafer hit both of the FTs. So how did he almost cost the game?

He intentionally missed it so the Clippers could try to get the rebound. Unfortunately for them, a giant named Yao Ming was right there to snare it. :D

I noticed that, too. Who knows? It didn't look like they were arguing or anything.

It wasn't the normal call for the NBA. 9/10 times that is 3 FTs, he was going into a shooting motion (this is the NBA--liberal shooting motion/continuation), ref called the foul, and he never stepped over the 3 line with either foot before releasing it. Whether he makes 3, who knows, different situation (than shooting 2). The 2nd miss was intentional BTW, it was there only chance (O rebound and 3). Look at Rafer's cringe, he thought he blew it post wistle (3 shots).

But the Clips are a good, talented, veteran team starting to find their groove. Any road win there is quality. Remember they beat the Jazz by 32 there just last friday. I just hope Sammy can give them something for the Mavs series--if so they could give them trouble in the LA games--make them work.

In that situation, you don't want them to make any shooting attempts though. They should have fouled him a lot earlier.

But just because it wasn't normal doesn't mean it was a bad call, does it? Whether he stepped over the line or not doesn't matter to me. He was behind the line, but he went up for the shot after the whistle blew. This wasn't as if he was up in the air and rafer slapped his hand during a shot, or even that move Mcgrady does, to fake the defender into fouling him.

Was it a call that could have gone either way? Of course, but the Rockets didn't win this game because of a "blown call."
