Shut up Yao only fans. Eveyone is starting to get sick of ya Guard bashing ways. Franics had 9 assists and cat had 6. What else do you want??? Francis is the main guy on the team. Get used to it, or just go away please. Cannot even read 1 thead these days without people bashing cat or francis.

This is what im gathering from all these posts, and what will happen in the future

Jim Peterson - "How sweet it is!!!!! The Rockets are your 2003-2004 NBA world champions!!!!!!!!"

common bbs poster - "What!!!! Yao only had freakin 8 shot attemps, and only scored 2 pts in the second quarter!!! We must trade steve and cuttino!!!"

i watched this game on local FoxSportsNet in LA.

the sideline reporter relayed this strategy from Dunleavy for the 2nd half.

"..double up on Yao, double up on Francis. deny them the shots.

i am willing to let the others beat have the shots. if these 3rd, 4th and 5th options beat us, so be it. ..."

that's how it played out, Cat and MO got hot in 2nd half. Rox win

Thank you. THat was the best post in this 8 page monstrosity of a thread.

Farhan also raises a valid point: lots of assists means good ball movement, open shots = high scoring output.

Yao-only fans can whine all they want. No one is above the team.

    Team first!!!!

When Yao is doubled (or a zone triple team) the guards must hit their outside shots. Keep the defense honest. They did, Rockets win!

By the way, Francis is playing just fine. Even the other game where he only scored 4 points. That game was lost for other reasons (pansy ass rebounding and soft offensive intensity from the whole team).

we are expected to win this game, PERIOD! Clippers were missing most of their stars,Elton Brand, Q. Richardson,M. Jaric,Polynice....JVG gonna have a long talk with the team about that horrific third quarter...I think the outcome may be different if all their starters are back, it will be much closer.Rox still have a lots of work to do by all means. This win is expected, and that's all there is to it! we made most of our outside shots today against an injury depleted team, but we may not be so lucky next time...so let's not read too much into today's wi( even if we beat them today by 40 points). That third quarter still tells me that we still have a long way to go...sigh!!!

The 3rd quarter was a horrible quarter for us, and i think some of it had to do with Yao not being as involved. However, as soon as the 4th quarter started, the guards gave him the ball, he drew the double team, and we made some easy, wide open 3's. That little stretch gave us some separation, and helped us get the win. After that, he was in foul trouble, and did not need to return. It was disappointing that Yao was not involved in the 3rd, and some really ugly basketball resulted. I'm glad though that they fixed the problem in the 4th and pulled away.

And what would you say if Yao scored 4, Mobley 12, Francis 24, JJ 19, Boki 15, Pike 8, and we won?

    "Give the ball to Yao!!!!"

That's what we'd hear from you!

im sorry, but your sentences just dont make sense, at one point your winning about the way the rockets win, the next moment your saying that their ball movement is good, and then you call me stupid(which is againt Clutch's riles to directly insult someone)

I never said this game was a disaster. We did have more ball movements in this game, so the team assists naturally went up. Read my previous posts. I did say we played near perfect basketball during the 1st half. I got frustrated only for the 2nd half simpily because our guards couldnt create more shots for our big men by better spacing. The spacing between Yao and Cato was particularly bad during the 3rd quarter. I just hate all these lame excuses that a win is a win, Yao being double-teamed, etc. Any form of criticism would be labeled as Yao-only.

Yeah, I had to go back an watch the other game. Seem like Portland just locked him down. But he keep passing (patience). In the past he would have drove into a tripple team...

The type of mind-set will carry him through the regular season (higher chance of winning, even the "seemly" losable games).

SamFisher and others: if you can't see how horribly we played in the 3rd quarter, then you weren't watching. NBA League Pass used the Clippers' feed, and their announcers were shocked that L.A. was still in the game at the end of 3 quarters, down by only 7 points, despite shooting 30% from the field. During that 3rd quarter, in which the Rockets committed 7 or 8 turnovers, the L.A. announcers repeatedly commented that, "The Rockets are playing awful basketball, they're holding the door wide open" for the Clippers to get back in the game, but they weren't taking full advantage of the opportunities because, well, basically because they're the lousy Clippers.

Sam, do you think we would have beaten the Spurs/Mavs/Kings/Lakers with our play tonight? If you think a win is a win, and there is no need to "excuse winning" then you should remember this quote from our head coach AFTER A RECENT WIN:

"If we expect to be a .500 team, then this type of closing out the games is fine. If we want to be on the fence between lottery and playoffs, if that's what we're striving for, this is fine. If they have my vision and my goals, to make strides toward winning a championship, it's not just me that will see this as totally unacceptable. It will be everybody in that room."

    OK ,sorry 2,but u r boring!
If u really want to say sorry£¬Just XXXXXXX :D!I am saying our ball
movement is good!u just questioned yao got 3-4 touchs in 3rd Q.
but he didnt shoot, So,I told u it is ball-moving,it is Re-post,lalala.
there is nothing about our teams ballmovement!
More touch, more moving, more inside-out is the right way to win more games!if u r our pg, we sucks!since u thought touch=shot,
    touch=never throw back!

    49% shooting, 28 assists, 105 points.

Yeah, I'll take that against any team.

The quote you gave was from the GS game.

30 something shooting, very few assists, 80 something points.

But tonight wasn't like that, was it? Go Rockets!!!:)
