Agreed... and when Whataburger had the "what-a-block" promotion when Hakeem was in his prime, it almost put that burger franchise out of business... :D

Yep, just as bad as the McDonalds score 100 points promotion. At least they added the Jeff Van Gundy clause "or hold the opponent under 80 points" :)

Is Yao ready to carry the load down the stretch??? The Clippers are not going to let McGrady beat them, so it might be up to the big fella.

JVG has been calling his number here in the 4th... this is where Yao needs to rise to the occasion.

If Yao jumps on defense, I honestly think the refs will feel less compeled to call fouls on him.

When he's "standing flat-footed with that defenseless look of being hopeless, trying to draw a charge..." the refs HATE that.

I'm being picky about the exknicks, I just Hate molding teams under that paradigm.

I have a gut feeling that if we lose this game, the downward spiral will accerlerate and snowball to a crash landing when we start hitting those tough WC teams and Van Gundy will be terminated or there will a large liquidation of players on the cheap.

I will be sad honestly to see Van Gundy go but this team absolutely has no SOUL.

I think The WC teams will be the finisher of the Van Gundy era one month after the Alltsar break the minimum. That's just my gut feeling.

As good of a help defender Hakeem was, Yao might be the exact opposite.

His "recover" ability on D has been exposed now the last two games, with K. Thomas and Wilcox.... the NBA is catching on.

JVG will probably have to adjust his scheme.

I think he has the whole season to do something. But right now this team doesn't look like a playoff contender. If Van Gundy doesn't make the playoffs, I'd say there's a fairly good chance he'll be fired. He'll certainly be fired well before Yao or McGrady are given away by the organization.

Nothing comes easy in this league any more... I long for a "laugher" of a game... but so far, the closest thing we've gotten to that is New Jersey.
