Damn Yao, I guess someday it does not pay to get up, I'm still rooting for you though, get it together and come out strong in the second half.

Yao Ming biting on a pump fake ... just one of those things I've seen a million times from the Rockets and wouldn't mind never seeing again.

As scary as this may be, I'd take Matt Maloney over Charlie Ward right now, just because he can hit a wide open 3 at least 40% of the time...

JVG is going to LIVID about his game again.

Why the hell do we need Van Gundy to have to make another Bold statement in the Chroncile to light a fire under this guy everytime, now in his 3rd season to be assertive and grab some freakin rebounds.

He's 24 years old not a baby, the coach should not have to baby sit him every other day to play with passion and fire.

When was the last time Ward made a 3 pointer when defender is 10 feet away?

All these happend after Lue went to bench. Howard was responsible for the first pass. He was not prepared.

I'm probably just speaking out of frustration in the moment, but I think it's starting to become fairly safe to say that this guy isn't going to amount to much more than a good player. This performance thus far scares me.

It's damn frustrating to see him so mentally weak. You should never play timid just because of a few fouls.

It seems that Yao is stronger than last year, but slower, especially reaction.

It is frustration... and it is justified.

But, there are a couple of trends this year that have me more optimistic than I have been in the past w/ his down games:

    1. In his good games this year, he's been REALLY good... not just 15-18 points, but 25-30 points.

    2. Last year, he'd have one good game... then 3-4 ok games, and 1 horrible game. This year, it seems to be 3-4 good games, 2 ok, and 1 bad. At least his good to bad ratio has improved.

    3. His conditioning is better, even though its not what an average 24 year old NBA player has.

Could you find a better excuses OR stop making excuses for him for once? As many said, he isn't a baby anymore. There is no need for fans to find excuese for him.

It's crazy! He plays with fire two games, then gets soft the next. Lets hope he plays better in the 2nd half.

    Excellent post snowmt01.
Yao is very afraid when he gets in foul trouble and no one can fix this problem but himself.

Yao ming should not play in the NBA now. He is either ahead of his time or behind.

Van Gundy should not coach in the NBA now. His way is not suitable for the current NBA.

I feel bad for JVG, feel bad for Yao.

Steve is happy now, but he will be thankful to JVG someday (bot for trading him and making him a better player).

Yao has gained as much as he can from JVG, it's time to go separate ways. JVG has made him a better player, but he will never fulfill his potential under JVG, thus hurting all involved.

too bad we can not install any chips programmed like JVG in the players heads...

That's true. Hopefully this trend will equate to his 19+PPG average (vs 17). His rebounds are down, though. :( (8.2 vs 9.2)

Tracy's doing a great job handling the basketball. Watch for Yao to dominate this second half.
