t-mac is the best at making the entry pass, most of our guards suck at it, but according to most on this board our role players are more than sufficient for us to be title contenders

but i do have to say, alot of times yao is to blame because he just never gets a good seal on his man. i never see as many turnovers and knock aways for other teams big men on entry passes as i do for yao.

I repeat this prediction are nothing because you predict this happen with T-Mac playing, he is not so your prediction are pointless.

BTW you didn't predict Toronto and Phi losses.

Is funny because you are kind of proud of being a pessimist looser, wow you just won another ulcer.

We going to win next game and I'm going to be happy when you every time we win going to hide and cry because you got nothing to bash.

    Nice way of living.

Rockets lost tonight. But bright side of tonight's game was when Yao Ming gave Kevin Garnett and nasty facial posterizing dunk! It was funny Kevin Garnett ran away and tried to hide it, but it was too late! Everyone saw he got posterized and then tried to hide it by turning his back and run away. Yao gave him a staredown right after the posterization!

Here's a picture Raymond (Pryuen) posted. Hope somebody puts up a clip of that on Youtube!

Yup, I am pretty sure we're going to win on Friday. We're a better team then the Magic and we'll put a whopping on them. Friday is going to cause the baord to light up as everyone jumps back on the bandwagon.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I predicted what would happen to the Rockets (you know ... the team). I don't care that a butterfly flapped its wings in Mongolia. Stuff happens to players ... injuries, colds, family situations. Still, one can make predictions. In my case, I got most of them right.

BTW, I never claimed to predict anything about Toronto or Philadelphia.

I'd be much prouder if the Rockets showed themselves to be contenders. Right now, they're not even pretenders.

Agreed. I did not really enjoy the games untill we were against Denver. Since then, I start to like watching the Rox to play no matter whether it's a sweet win or bitter loss. I do like wins, but I like better the way that we are playing now.

IMO, there are quite a few variables to lead a team to win or lose. We already had a tough colorful and bitter early season. Even though the analysis you embraced is quite reasonalbe, it is more likely that we could not make wins 26 out of 29 against the worst. If we count 2-3 unexpected loss, we will have to gain 11-12 victories against the others which makes things even harder.

But, I do hope you are right about everything!!!

Yup, that's very unrealistic. That's called dreaming. Realistically, I think we'll win 21/29 against the worst and 7/21 against the best. That gives us a 43 win season and puts us out of the playoffs.

BTW, coolstandings.com is slightly more optimistic than me and predicts 43.7 wins for us and they give us a roughly 1 in 3 chance of making the postseason. But even if we make the postseason, it'll be another first round exit ....

The finishing lineup should be Alston-Bonzi-Battier-Scola-Yao. Adelman cant leave freaking dumb Head on the floor, otherwise the Rockets are not going to win.

Does this dumb Head even has a will to defend? He's stand 2 feet behind Ray Allen doing NOTHIN'. He let Rajon Rondo drives by him easy and looks like an all-star. Not to mention his dumb ass bounce pass that became a turnover at critical moment.

It's interesting that in an recent Christmas interview Head said he loved dunking in the early college years. But Head said now he rarely dunk because he suffered an injury when he couldnt hold onto the rim in a dunk attempt. Man, in 2 and half seasons in Houston, Head has been able to keep himself very healthy. Head is playing no contact basketball.

i dont wanna disrupt your fun, but yao is not a leader like tracy. last season, tmac led the team without yao to a record of 20-12. now that tmac is out, yao should step up, and he has but not just enough like tmac. and the face that the roster is better now than last year just shows what kind of a team we have without tracy.. disappointment :(

We could have won but if only Yao was like Yao we knew. I am not sure why Yao has off night quite a number of times this year. Yao hardly has any off night last time. His shots were gold last time, now he is bricking it consistently until I wished he would not do any fade away because he will miss. Last time, he hardly miss these fade away. Today, his misses caused us the game and I wish I knew why he started to miss these fade away and layups.

    Bonzi Wells is a MAN!

    http://my.nba.com/forum.jspa?forumID=300018936

BOSTON -- Bonzi Wells isn't sure what's wrong with his sore left shoulder.

That doesn't mean he's interested in getting a diagnosis.

Wells, who scored 25 points in Houston's 97-93 loss to Boston on Wednesday night, has been bothered by pain in his shoulder over the past four games.

"It's still attached I guess," Wells said of his shoulder. "I haven't gotten it checked out yet. I've just been trying to fight through it. I know if I get it checked, they might tell me some bad news. But I don't want to hear it right now."

The Rockets certainly need Wells on the floor. They're already missing Tracy McGrady (knee tendon strain) and Steve Francis (bi-lateral quadricep tendinitis). Houston is expected to be without both guards at least another week.

Wells first hurt his shoulder after taking a hard fall in Houston's Dec. 28 win over Memphis. He left that game, but hasn't missed any playing time because of the injury.

He noticeably grimaced after being hit over his shoulder against the Celtics.

"They always find a way to hit it," Wells said. "It's nothing. It's something I have to fight through. I'm going to continue to plug away and just try to fight through it. I can't sell out the team. I gotta be here. I can't not be here. If I can walk, I'm going to play."

Excellent use of the double negative. I can't NOT be here. Bonzi's first quotes were similar to Tracy's. Tracy didn't want the MRI because he didn't want to hear the bad news... yet Tracy gets trashed on here. :(

You know whats lame? On espn and nba.com there are no highlights of this dunk. If this was LeBron or Kobe dunking over Garnett this would have been a top 10 play of the year, since its Yao he gets nada.

Technically, that could be called an offensive foul on Yao since he used his left arm to shield KG away.

The way they reffed Yao tonight, I'm surprised they didn't make a call like that.

Adelman thinks KG was getting away with too much when he was guarding Yao in the 4th quarter.

I don't know what you were watching, but this specific highlight was showed on SportsCenter in the Rockets/Celtics highlights. I saw it with my own eyes.

Yes. 26-3 is nearly 90% ball. Even against "subpar" teams, that's a tall order. Only Boston's delivered that kind of game.

It's also unrealistic given that you've broken teams into "subpar" and "top tier" with no middle ground. Whether you call that middle category "mediocre", "middle tier", or "dangerous"*, to ignore that category is, at best, a poor method for projecting the season.

At the very least, until you identify which teams are "subpar", I can't really agree with a 26-3 projection... especially with losses against Philly, Memphis and Miami already in the books.

As for 9-12 against "top tier" teams... that's about a .429 record, only slightly worse than their present 15-17 (.469) record. I can almost buy that.

<hr>*I believe Jeff Van Gundy once said something to the effect of "No one ever calls championship teams 'dangerous'."

rubbish, KG was already in the restricted area when Yao initiated his move, then KG jumped up to try to block Yao, but Yao was quicker and dunked the ball over him. If it had been Komo, Fade or LeChoke, it'd have been an And+1.

Cause ESPN is racist. When Yi JianLian posterized Al Jefferson, that wasn't on ESPN Top 10 plays either! Yi JianLian was actually FOULED by Al Jefferson on that posterizing dunk, it should've been an AND 1. But nope, no call. At least he posterized Al Jefferson, so it's all good. And that was pretty nasty too!

Adelman should put a bigger lineup in the final 6:17. The small lineup Alston-Head-Bonzi-Battier-Yao couldnt get a rebound to save their lives. Scola should be in the game instead of Head. It was the hustle plays of Bonzi and Scola that brought the Rockets back to the game.

You're right, they did showed that. But guess what the announcer on Sportscenter said on that play? I heard it with my own ears. He said "Rafer Alston dishes it to Yao for an easy uncontested dunk."

I couldn't believe what I heard! "uncontested" dunk??!??! YEA FRICKING RIGHT!

This is what the Sportscenter announcer should've said:
"Rafer Alston dishes it inside to Yao and Yao DUNKS it in Kevin Garnett's grill. Talk about being posterized! Nice try for turning away and run, KG. We all saw that and you just got posterized by the GREAT WALL!"
