I can swallow this one. KG got hot in the fourth and that's the end of the story.

It was obvious they'd done some preparation on defending Yao and he was made uncomfortable the whole game but did have a very good 2nd and 3rd Q, almost single-handedly fouled two guys out, let's not forget that. OK, maybe he could've grabbed a couple boards down the stretch but **** happens.

Head was in there near the end because he can shoot the three. Actually he always shoots well in the fourth. Remember people talking about that last year? And his handling is much better this year and he can actually penetrate on occasions. However!!! His b-ball IQ lets him down. That bounce entry pass makes me cringe every time! Someone teach him how to pass!!!

The team played ok so please stop whining and keep supporting the guys. We are gonna turn the season around any time now. I still believe!!

    GO ROCKETS!!!

    Corrections...

Luther Head is only a midget spot-up shooter.

Luther Head can't defend, rebound, handle the ball, pass, shoot off the dribble, drive to the basket, make good decisions or anything else that is not a wide-open, spot-up jump shot.

It's called finding some sort of positive in all this negativity, or would you rather want me to say "TRADE LUTHER, LUTHER SUCKS"?

Hey, what do you guys expect? We're against the top team in the NBA and down 20 into the second quarter... Still, we fought back and earned ourselves a chance to win.

    1. Yao played like he didnt want to be in the game in first 1 and half quarters. After spoon fed for some dunks, then Yao showed more energy. But Yao's shot is way off.

    2. Head is such defensive liability and it's not even funny. Poor decision/passing of course is another part of Head's game.

    3. The ball at crunch time should really go to the hot hands - skip-to-my-lou and bouncey whale - the Rockets' two true all-stars.

    4. There is no morale victory in NBA. A loss is a loss. Let's move on to another game.

I, like many are appreciative of the effort, but if we keep applauding effort without the W's, thats just the loser mentality and will contribute to a losing environment. just want to be weary of that..onto Orlando and we have to get W...

The plan was to surround Yao with three point shooters so that when the double came the Rockets could capitalize.

Guess what? No double team. And Yao got the ball waaaaaaay outside on a night when he was shooting badly. At that point what should have happened was that Yao passes the ball back outside and reposts much closer in. Unfortunately that didn't happen--Yao only took two shots when he came back in and there wasn't a lot of reposting. Hopefully Adelman can pound this stuff into the Rockets head at practice.

Exactly. Hasn't anyone noticed that Bonzi and Alston are thriving when driving to the basket these days? Think they don't like playing with Yao?

I agree with you on Brooks. Thought the same thing in the Golden State game as well.

But the Celtics went small in the fourth. You would have still played Scola and Yao together? I don't like that lineup, defensively, at all. You have to be able to contest their three point shooting. I would have gone with:

PG - Brooks (he should be handling the offense as well, not playing off the ball)
SG - Rafer (guards Ray Allen, and stays out of Brooks's way on offense)
SF - Battier (three point shooting, defense on Pierce)
PF - Bonzi (cutter, rebounder, good transition player)
C - Scola (that's right, screw the Yao vs KG matchup)

Finally. I am so happy by what I saw tonight. Man, we got ourselves a competitive team.

We took the best team in the NBA and were actually leading them by 3 late in the 4th qtr. The silence in the arena was nothing but being stunned, and even the announcers seemed shakened.

We played terrific. I've seen a lot of growth on this team. And I can say this with absolutely certainity - this is the best Rockets team since 1997.

We're going to win 50 games folks. It's going to be fun from here on out.

Hear hear. A lot of this negativity from so-called "fans" is pretty disgusting.

There's no reason to be negative at all. We played a great game and nearly pulled it out. A month ago we'd have been certainly blown out. We're seeing the transformation of our team from an also-ran into a contender.

And it's happening just in the nick of time.

Yes, and I will add this: Brooks is electrifying, wow...I love this kid.

Bonzi played with ballz and heart
Yao was NOT officiated fairly for most of the game....as soon as he catches fire, there come the refs. calling 3 seconds and other phantom fouls..
Shane should have hit a couple more 3s

If the rox could learn to play with that kind of ball movement with tmac in the game instead of everyone standing around watching tracy isos...wow, we could be very good.

    go rox

there's no excuse for yao not being able to establish deep position against kg and needing to repost. yao has almost 100lbs on kg! yao's just not good enough.
