Somebody upstream mentioned that Minnesota is next -- as a public service message, I just thought I'd let people know that there are only 171 tickets left for Saturday's game as of right now. If you want to be in the house, it's best to get a ticket quickly -- we'll likely run out at some point this afternoon.

That's great. Kind a bunks the crappy Houston fans routine going on around here..... I guess they have time to drive in from Katy and The Woodlands Saturday?

FYI, everyone should make a visit down here and check out all the stuff going on around downtown in prep for the Super Bowl. This area is vastly improved. The area around Toyota / GRB is really much improved.... There is a lot of foot traffic on Friday night and SAT/SUN afternoons on Main St. Street parking is free after 6PM Friday.

Last night's game was a good one. I hope this game on Saturday is good. I have a bad feeling about it.

Well we have a 2 game winning streak and heres to making it three. We need to manhandle KG and LS.

Hmm, very telling quote from the opponent's coach. Maybe Cato should go back to be the backup center, and let Padgett and Taylor share the PF spot.

But then we'll be giving up some defense. JVG might not like it. Both Padgett and Taylor are not known for their defense. Do you want to trade some defense for some offense?

Also, I notice Mo is a lot more active in rebounding than ever. And Padgett got a ton of rebounds last night too.

I agree. Yao played as good as you can play in the first half against the Celtics. In the 2rd half, the Celtics were determined to let the other players beat them by sending two players to double Yao all the time, sometimes even a third guard harrassing the passing lane. However, even Yao was not able to put points on the board, he got 8 rebounds and 2 blocks, and created numerous open looks for his teammates.

The funniest thing is that Blount missed 2-3 wide open layups because he was afraid that Yao would block those shots -- even Yao was 4-5 feet away from the basket. LOL.

I agree to let Yao shoot jump shot mores. In fact, he should be shooting as much as he's posting up. When you have a guy who can shoot free throws with consistency, you know he's a good shooter. Just look at all the players in the league who is a shoot FT shooter, you know he's also an overall good shooter as well.

Teach Yao to post up and face up to shoot like Duncan and Webber and Garnett did. This is his type of game. 50% shooting and 50% banging is what i am asking.

Well, previous Chronicle articles have pointed out that Steve doesn't read the papers on himself for the sake of his own sanity.

But really, Calvin didn't say that the guards suck. He just said that Yao is the man and that he's who the Rockets are banking on, which is what everyone knows already.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

    That is funny!

Yao really does play better when he gets to camp out at the high post and top of the key. I think that's one of the things that really determines how well our offense operates. When Yao is mobile, so is our offense. People move w/o the ball, spacing gets better, and Yao is more energetic. Getting Yao a couple of open looks from the perimeter seems to make him happy too.

It was nice to see him smile.

    :D

I totally aggree, who are all these haters like the Tim Leggler and Steve Kerr who, and other scrubs talking about Yao, saying he's 'soft' he's just different. I don't think someone who grabs 9 or 10 boards, is in the top five in blocks is 'soft' you punk. And you are completely right, I've seen every game the past 2 seasons and they've finally figured it out, it took them 5 million dollars, but they got it. Yao doesn't have to be on the low-block to score:eek: . Jeepers creepers he can hit jumpshots like every other big-man in the West??? What a concept??? You mean we can actually run screens??? What is this NEW form of basketball??? Maybe we should try it some more... And now that we have Mark Jackson, maybe Steve will learn something instead getting technicals from his temper tantrums during the game. Let him see how a real guard not just a point guard should play. Everyone says point guard, but all guards need to know how to manage the flow of the game. JJackson is pretty good at that, and so is Mike Wilks. That's pathetic, a rookie is better at mananging the game than your so-called franchise player??? Though I wonder if we're in a close game who will get benched? Steve, Cutino, Jackson, Yao, or Cato for Mark to play??? Lord knows we lose all our close games. . .
