    You mean like:

    Phoenix in Phoenix
    San Antonio twice
    Golden State
    Detroit
    Cleveland twice
    Portland
    Orlando
    Utah
    Denver
    Lakers

Which are all teams that the Rockets have beaten this year.......everyone plays everyone.....this team is going places.

For the record that is 12 wins against playoff teams...

But we are done with some of those teams -- Det, Orlando, Cavs. Plus we lost to some of them too. And the Lakers and Mavs are better now.

Although I don't agree with his assessment that we don't have a chance for the playoffs, there are a couple stretches in the March that will be very tough for us, especially the 5 games one in the 3rd week -- LAL, Bos/@NO, @GS/@Pho, five teams that are better or have owned us, two back-to-backs too. That is a killer!

lol . . I just really hope we can tie/beat that record! . . so here's this crafty piece of info . .

In the early 1990's the Houston Rockets turned their fortunes around, first with the hiring of a former star player as their head coach, Rudy Tomjanovich. Tomjanovich instantly brought the team out of their slump by starting off the 1993 season with 15 consecutive wins. Behind Olajuwon's NBA and Finals MVP trophy play the Rockets advanced to the NBA Finals that year and defeated the New York Knicks for the championship crown.

In the next season in the Houston rockets were also favorites to win it all, especially with Clyde Drexler, an off season acquisition from the Portland Trailblazers. Behind the play of Olajuwon and Drexler the Rockets again made it to the NBA Finals and again won it all by sweeping the Magic in four games. Once Olajuwon left the Houston Rockets, they couldn't make it back to the championship again. The addition of Scottie Pippen and Charles Barkely helped the Houston Rockets remain a competitive team but they never made it to the Finals again.

Currently the Houston Rockets have two of the NBA's most exiting players in Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, and should be playoff contenders for many years to come.

You of all people should know that contenders are forged in the playoffs.

Right now, the only team that I see as a contender that hasn't won in the playoffs is L.A. because of Kobe and Phil Jackson.

Then it's San Antonio, Utah, Dallas, and Phoenix as the other contenders). You can forget about NO.

As for us. Well, I think we're missing one ingredient. We've been through that though. And Yao and T-mac need to win a playoff series before I can conceive of them winning a ring. Our team aren't winners yet - winning 52 games in the season is just being on par with what we did last year.

Just like I didn't go nuts when we were 15-17 and figured we'd be 10 up by the all-star break (surprised we hit 12 up), i'm not going to say we're a contender until we move to the second round.

never seen yao suck so bad on the offensive side of the ball. 3-17 has gotta be his worst shooting performance ever. looks to me he's got no legs tonight.

great win though. rafer and scola are the heroes.

looking forward to 10 in a row. in miami we trust.

A great win IMO! The only bad thing is Yao and T-Mac shot like crap, but they did something else to help the team. This kind of win greatly boost the confidence of players like Rafer, Luis, Bonzi, etc, as they know now that they don't need to rely on their star players dominating every night to win games, they can also take over if situation need them to. That's a very positive progress that Rockets really need to get out of the first round of playoff.

I was upset about missing the game. Had to take a potential new account to dinner. But after reading all of the prior 200 posts in this thread, sounds like I didn't miss much.

We should blast the Heat on Thursday and I'm looking forward to the Hornets on Friday.
