I don't have any. However I do know that Yao's contract year is coming up, and Les wants Yao more than JVG, JVG knows this. How do you pull power play if your power is tiny? Especially now. I don't even know why I'm defending this....

Steve is not Yao. Steve is gone and Yao is still here. If Yao went to Les last year and said "if steve goes, I'm gone", we'd still be writing about how Steve and Cat will never get it.

Not sure about that. I think JVG benched Yao after he missed 3 shots in a row. As a matter of fact, JVG always likes to do that to Yao. On the other hand, when it was T-Mac, JJ, or even Mo who kept on misfiring, the Grumpy guy usually let them stay on the court.

Maybe Van Gundy is trying to show off his tradable assets like Howard.

Clove, no whining from me:) I'm real glad we won tonight, almost a must win for our ball club to win back their sanity and confidence to head towards the new year.

I just find it interesting the treatment that Yao gets. He is without a doubt has to put up with the most crap from all sides: Refs, players, writers, announcers, fans( ours and theirs).

I can't help but think that Yao is getting the double standard treatment, dismiss it all you want but that is the fact. While I am typing this another caller on the Fan Feedback just said Yao is the weakest 7'6'' center he has ever seen! His call is the typical calls I hear all the time whether we win or lose. Yao , in case that knuckle head caller and the host don't know has 20pts,7rbs,4blks in about less than 30 mins of playing time, but don't let stats get in the way of your hating.

I like Yao when we drated him but since he's been getting this kind of treatment from people, I will root, defend, argue and believe in him until he proves me wrong!

In Yao's defense he gets royally SCREWED by the referees.

2 hands pushing in his back on every shot.....

You don't know how much I hope you are right. But I am worried that maybe Van Gundy is at the top of Les' totem poll the way players are shuffling in and out of here. If you are right, I sure wish Yao would step up and say something. If he is unhappy, it will be the ruin of this franchise if he re-ups for the one year and then walks when he is unrestricted. I'm starting to get worried about that one.

I don't understand why you say Van Gundy's power is tiny when he is obviously orchestrating all the player movement in and out of here. He can sit in those press conferences and talk about the front office trying to improve the team, but we all know that CD is bringing players in and out of here at Van Gundy's request and with Van Gundy's approval. I'd never make it as a reporter in those press conferences. I'd shovel all his dribble right back on him.

The difference is that Lebron doesn't consistently have bad games. Yao does - that's why people are frustrated. If Yao had as few bad games as Lebron you wouldn't see anyone calling him a wimp.

I meant when compared with Yao's.:)

JVG has all that power right now because he is breaking up a team to fit around Yao. (of course Tmac too, but he wasn't here last year) JVG's power comes from solidifying Yao's power. I know that sounds a little insane....

Clove, I sure hope you are right my friend. But at this point I happen to think Van Gundy is breaking up this team to fit around himself and to solidify his power, not Yao's, Tmac's, or anybody else's. I sure hope I am wrong. The reason that I feel this way is Van Gundy hasn't done or said one thing positive about Yao to make me think that he is in any way trying to build around him. In fact, everything that I have seen or heard from JVG in reference to Yao is negative at best and degrading at worst.

Maybe. I actually had a thought about this today since we were playing Cleveland. It has been reported, by David Aldridge on TNT last week, that the Cavs was really trying to trade Snow to the Rockets. He never said if the Rockets declined or not, but just that Houston was trying to trade everyone outside Yao and TMac. Think about this. Eric Snow, a big defensive-minded PG, made his mark in the league playing along side an under-sized shooting guard (Iverson). Well, guess what the Rockets just got in a trade? A scoring, under-sized SG with a good outside shot. Could it be possible that the Rockets are really looking at acquiring Snow but a) needed to get another guard that would compliment him since Snow doesn't really have a consistent 3pt jumper and b) open a roster spot to get an extra player to match one of our PF's contracts. Maybe a Howard for Snow/Varejao or MoT/Gaines for Snow/Diop/Pavlovic with a pick or two going one way or another in either trade? Anyway, like I said, it was just a thought I had.

Just got home from a HS bball game and haven't yet seen the replay... was the elbow accidental? Way the radio guys were describing it, sounded like LeBron could have an orbital floor fracture. That could be bad. Get well, Gift!

Can TMac get any love for shutting LeBron down until the injury? I thought he and Wesley did a really good job on defense tonight.

Tmac shut him down. Lebron has problems scoring against certain types of defenses. He's good, but like Yao, he has a lot more to learn.

    from Cavs bbs:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big Z took pretty good advantage of Yao's absence and racked up some points and rebounds.

Why Z shot all the jumpers? It's a waste of his size.

becuz he cant stand with Yao in the paint.
