them saying the rox aren't a good defensive team is bull sht. it doesnt matter how much they slow the ball. and if slowing the ball does make a difference, thats defense.

That's what I don't get about Juwon bashers. The dude isn't an all-star, but there are few ROLEPLAYING power forwards that can hit that shot with the consistency that Howard does as well as provide decent rebounding with a competent inside game.

Huh? Really? That would be the SWEETEST news I have heard all season. Is that Yao's own assessment or is he just being optimistic/giving fans/teammates something to cheer up about? And by back does he mean 'back and practicing to get back into shape' or 'back to starting again for the team'?

    Thanks TS as always...

This is an all-time low in Houston Rockets history: 5 pages on clutchfans for a nationally televised game

Great Win. Let's go on a winning streak and win every game until the all-star break

They showed him working out and shooting. it was a Yao exclusive interview, the first he has given since surgery. He sounded very definite about the timetable for his return. Basically saying, he gets his IV out of his arm out in a week, then he can start conditioning and practicing, and expects to be back in 2 to 3 weeks. Berman clarified what he said later about his return to the court and said Yao will be back on court before the end of the month.

edit: oh yeah, he said he feels like a new man. the pain was unbearable and the thought of surgery seriously worried him and the thought of it ending his career but he again he said he feels like a new man now and it will be like a new season for him when he returns.

edit: and by IV, he means the antibiotics that he takes through the IV. Again, Yao was asked directly by Berman when he expects to be back and Yao said in 2 to 3 weeks. Practicing in 2, back on the court with his teammates in 3. Berman then clarified what he said later and said Yao will be back on the court before the end of the month.

Not as much as Barkley and Kenny, they are just idiots.

The thing that is most annoying about Kenny and Charles, most specifically Charles, is that they don't talk about the games as single entities but rather they just adress the big picture. It could be an absolutely amazing game finishing 130-128, but if it's involving anyone other than San Antonio, Miami, or Detroit, they won't even talk about the game but go on to point out the team's numerous flaws and why they aren't contenders. Most of the time, they appear completely disinterested with the game and teams entirely.

    It gets annoying.

What got me was Marv Albert constantly using the Larry Hughes excuse for the reason why we were giving the Cavs a beatdown. How many times did he bring this up? Like 50 times? Uhhhhh, on our side we have a certain 7'-6 talented Chinese guy injured and not playing, he's kinda hard to ignore ya know. I think Marv mentioned this maybe twice.

I'm with you man, but in the broadcast they showed a TMac interview and he basically said a disk in his back just isn't right, he'll never be 100%, it won't be right for the rest of his career, and he'd just have to play through it from here on out until whenever he decides to gives up basketball.

It seemed like Kerr was taking as many chances as he could to say we were getting 'bailed out' at the end of the game.

Geez, no kidding. If he was getting 22/9 (averaging on his last road trip) on a bad and painful foot, I can't imagine how well he can do feeling 100% healthy for once.

You guys needs to stop bashing Kerr, he never said anything negative about the Rockets other then his usual misleading of information like the China votes..

To be honest with you he sounded like a TOF out there in the first half saying things in favor of T-Mac then Lebron the whole time. One example, he said Lebron was being embarrassed by T-mac and that he coundn't guard him.

I guess Marv forgot that McGrady just owns the Wizards (he has to have a career 35 ppg average) and Hughes was there for most of them. Larry is not a lockdown defender, he's a gambler that wasn't worthy of being all-defensive first team last year.

Oh and Kerr has a mancrush on T-Mac so ya'll need to get off his back.

yeah they need to get tapes from the 2002-03 season (including the first round series against detroit). awesome stuff that year.

Yes sir! I don't get it either. He is a role player this team needs very badly. When he's playing well on offense our team is hard to stop. JH just fits in so well to whoever else is on the court. He doesn't get in the way and if he's not posting up with the jump hook, he will find an open spot on the court 15-20 ft away, pop the jumper and torment poor defensive teams. What has been worrisome about JH is his inconsistency this year. Maybe he's just now finding his groove and getting on a roll like last year, except 2 months sooner. You have to admire the way he's stepped it up since Yao's been out (JH bashers call it stat padding). He has no ego and just wants to do what we need to win. Stro got 5 rebs in 23 minutes with only 2 fouls. Hopefully this will be considered a subpar game from Stro from hereon. Maybe tomorrow will be his game.

Great win, Rocket is surviving without YAO. Hope they can do it again tomorrow night.
