I don't know, I never thought Jon was a "hater". He compliments Jeremy as much as he criticizes him. I think he tends to focus on one fault too much, but he means well.

For example, he does criticize Lin for not being as strong going left (which is true), but he also compliments him for excelling as the PnR guard and in the last game he casted for the Rockets he did say that he expected good things from Lin in the future ("he can only get better").

There are a lot of LOFs who can't take an analyst who critiques Lin. It's not as if the things Jon is saying is untrue (like SAS).

I like Brent Barry better than Jon....Jon is a racist. Everyone is down with the Linsanity except him last year. It sicken me to see him doing the broadcast. I can't stand him....i don't want to see his faces. His brother is a totally different story.

I love how Jon keeps saying it is a pass when Rondo was blocked by Lin at the rim, and finally other other guy could not take it, and said why dont you just give that kid a block.

I just have a gut feeling about this one is going to be a let down game (see Toronto) =( I really hope I'm wrong, the boys better bring it! Gotta get this one for Asik!

I don't know if Jon Barry is a racist. Don't get me wrong, anyone who watches my other posts know I am a straight up Lin fan. I don't like Jon's comments, but he was quite supportive of Yao when Jon retired. So I couldn't quite say he is a racist. Maybe he has a grudge against Brent who have been right all along.

I can't stand Jon Barry not because he criticizes Lin, but because he is not a good analyst/game announcer as he doesn't provide decent professional analysis on the games and he is often wrong with his comments. That Rondo "pass" which a poster commented above is just one of the many examples that he often gets wrong on even the simplest fact.

When he was on ESPN halftime and post game show with Magic, Chris Broussard, and Michael Wilbon, he was the one among the four that's always wrong in his judgement and projection. Also he slurps the only few elite teams like the Heat and OKC and almost despises all other less elite teams. Plus his tone is always scornful and cynical, making him very annoying as a TV person. When he changed his job as a game announcer, not only he constantly makes mistakes in his remarks, he also talks too much sometimes minutes long about other unrelated stuff that has nothing to do with the game and players in front him. All in all, Jon Barry is just obnoxious as hell.

No let down, we'll take this one. The Toronto game, everyone looked jet-lagged. I've taken a flight from Orl->Tor before, it took me 3 days to recover.

This is going to be a super important game, not only for western conference playoffs standings, but also for the fact that this will be one of the few games where the Rockets can "prove it" to the Houston fan base. It's time to get fans pumped up about the new age Rockets.

I'm a Rockets fan that has caught every game so far on NBA League Pass International, so I know how exciting a time it is to have a team of Harden, JLin, and the rest of the young Rockets. With Comcast the way it is, my friends who used to watch it on Fox Sports SW can no longer see them in action. They have no idea, and they could care less.

It's on ESPN, on Christmas day, right after the marqee match-ups of Heat v. Thunder, there really are no excuses. I'm gathering everyone around the TV to show Houstonians how exciting this team really is.I know Chandler Parsons will win over the female crowd. And watching our 2 young stars starting to click will certainly impress fans. Hopefully, the Rockets will treat us to a high-octane offensive showing with some good defense too. It's a statement game, really.

This. He always commentates angrily like he thinks it makes him seem more knowledgeable to the audience. It's "Why did he do that?? Why didn't he do this!? I just don't understand what he was thinking!?" over and over. He'll find a criticism and pick at it repeatedly. His harsh tone is insufferable.

I wasn't let down since it seems we always lose in Toronto. I was expecting it. Just one of those weird matchup things like the Heat going 0-3 at Washington this year.

‘‘Sometimes I see the backgammon set that’s still on the plane, and we used to play backgammon together a lot,’’ Noah said. ‘‘Nobody else knows how to play backgammon. Sometimes I get bored on the plane and think about Omer. It’s kind of corny, but it’s true.’’
