missed the game but from these comments it looks like the team and brooks played well. good to hear....i really REALLY like brooks because he has the potential to be a key contributor to this team, and i think adelman thinks so too. one thing that stood out to me about brooks was when he only got 3 mins against the magic in the first quarter. after he got taken out he looked a little pissed that he only played for a little bit. i like seeing that kind of swagger from brooks.

Brooks looked great, although his stats weren't particularly great. This will definitely get him and Luther more time. So, assuming that he keeps getting better, and Luther continues to shoot decently, how long before we can officially start the Steve Francis RIP thread? :(

Jordan in the playoffs is different from the Jordan in the regular season. However, the same can be said about Dream. Just look at what he did to Robinson and Shaq in 95, and Ewing in 94. He dominated for the most part. Nobody would stop him from getting his, not even the best centers of the NBA at the time.

Jordan would've had to deal with Maxwell, who was one of the better defenders against him because he didn't let Jordan get the ball where he wanted to, if at all. Then Mario Elie was always a solid, tough defender.Clyde Drexler has some size on Jordan and can make Jordan exert energy on defense against him. Thats 3 solid defenders to guard Jordan.

Who did the Bulls have to guard Hakeem? An old Bill Cartwright, Will Purdue, Luc Longley, Bill Wennington, Horace Grant (Who Dream and Horry dominated in 95), Scott Williams, Cliff Levingston, Stacey King? None of these guys could guard Hakeem 1-on-1. They might have been able to hold their own against Ewing, but Dream is a complete nightmare for any of those players.

The 3 point shooting and rebounding is about equal, but Dream and Horry's shot blocking helped the Rockets defense a lot. Jordan would not get as many easy lay ups. Also a big guard like Sam Cassell would've destroyed B.J. Armstrong or John Paxson.

If all of that is not enough for you, Michael Jordan was once quoted in 1993 after a game against the Rockets which they lost, saying that (paraphrasing): "We don't wanna face the Rockets in the Finals. We have no answer for Hakeem Olajuwon."

I think the series would go 6 or 7 but I think the Rockets would ultimately win the series from 1993 to 1995 had Jordan never retired.

    Here's a summary:

    Code:

                 [B]Inside Perimeter[/B]
             [I]FGA Att% FG% FGA Att% FG%[/I]
    07/08 377 87.3% 50.9% 55 12.7% 36.3%
    06/07 791 96.6% 52.0% 28 3.4% 42.9%

This was predictable. Yao takes more perimeter jumpers, he's never been a great outside shooter, so the percentages will naturally come down. The hope was that by mixing it up, that would give him better shots close to the basket, but his efficiency there has actually dropped a bit as well (particularly on the left block).

He needs to prove that he is important for this team. :)

He's actually shooting at higher percentage in the deep circle.

He's has been shooting more from the outside, but not that much more, just a little more than average.

    Wow! Thank you Rockets.

That was really great to see the bench step it up.

I MUST eat crow, I have been so down on the team for moving Yao out of the post some and trying to run more and there they go off scoring in transition.

I hope I have to eat CROW every game until the playoffs.

I still like Yao better parked in the low block, but if the rest of the team keeps shooting well and TMac stays healthy I will gladly be the fool.

:D (That one game helped my Rocket Depression)

    Merry Christmas to All!

Man that Thabo Sefelosha was amazing last night...

I have no idea what made the Rockets even think about drafting that guy.

This reflects poorly on management's competence...yet again.
