And people like you, for whom JH can never do enough, make me want to shake my head. Before this game, I had given up on the season. If we have Yao, Tracy, JH, Rafer & Wesley as our starting lineup, maybe, just maybe we can make a run. But along with Luther & Deke, we need at least two of either Stro, JB & DA to provide enough depth to sustain ourselves for the rest of the season. I wouldn't get too excited about Chuck Hayes. He probably will never do this again. And go ahead and put this as your signature if I'm wrong. I don't care because I won't be wrong.
So, am I the only one who thinks we should only let T-Mac play every other game so that everytime he plays it's a comeback? He'd average 35 points a game and we'd be atleast .500 for the season. We might even steal a couple without him. Anything is possible.
From the end of regulation on to the end, every time Mac drained a dagger I went into fits of uncontrollable laughter. I don't know, maybe it's because when he takes those crazy clutch shots, you're surprised when they don't go in, and knowing this fact gets me feeling all giddy and giggly inside for some reason. Tickles me all over to have the pleasure of watching someone so unreal, making an absolute mockery of that defense. Please lord, let his back hold up, please please please?
LOL! Yah, but man that might not be feasible since we need to do better than .500 if we're to catch up in the standings. BTW, if I am not mistaken, he's been averaging over 35ppg the last 7 games or so...and don't forget, this is the injured McGrady. Seriously, the league doesn't want to see a healthy McGrady playing along side a healthy Yao Ming and a half-decent cast of role players; it wouldn't be fair.
so tmac had 35. jho had 30. jho stepping up in a yao sorta way. rest of the cast: wesley with 17 and hayes with 12. head with 7. even though we won heres what i am pissed at. why do we only have 5 pts from our pg? 2/9. atleast make half of ur shots. take it inside. do something. u play 54mins and u get 5 pts.
What's to complain about? Cut him a little slack willya? He shot poorly but had 12 assists, 8 rebounds, 3 steal and 1 TO. Rafer fit right in with what we needed. He did "something". Chill.
And the bipolar fandom continues... Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic about the win. Nonetheless, I guarantee that half of the people who're taking about comebacks/playoff runs now are the same people who were screaming for everyone to be traded/fired because we had the worst team in the history of the NBA two days ago.
Well welcome back to the bandwagon everyone (even if it's only for one game!) You know what's so great about this win -- it proves something. As long as we're not getting blown out, and T-Mac is playing, we've got a pretty good shot at a W. And when Yao comes back, we definitely won't be having as many close calls as we've been having recently.
#$%* man! Alston had a 12-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio! They traded Mike James to get a guy who does exactly that. Let's not mention the 3 steals or 8 rebound either. What else does he have to do? Wash yo mama's back?
TMac was Jordanesque, good grief, when even half healthy he is absolutely unreal. Please, please, please let Chuck Hayes be as good as he looked tonight. The Rocket's need a rebounder sooooo bad. And thanks to Howard, who has been the most solid role player the Rocket's have had this year. A really entertaining game, finally! I have just a glimmer of hope, a tiny glimmer which will probably be put out by the Pistons, but, I am going to enjoy it for the moment.
Well, do you care about winning ballgames or not? Teams that Juwan Howard is on, games that he is the leading scorer, his team NEVER wins. Heck close games where Howard is on the floor late in the 4th quarter usually do not turn out good for the Rockets either. It's not about individual stats, it's about winning games. How many Juwan Howard teams have made the playoffs in his career? Not a lot. Until Juwan Howard's production leads the team he plays for to victories, of course Juwan can never do enough to satisfy me. Juwan is not a good player to have on a team that is trying to win. Bottom line. He may try hard, and many Rockets fans may appreciate that, but I don't care about it because it rarely translates to wins. He has no touch around the rim, he is not a good defender. Hell, Hayes showed he is ALREADY a better rebounder than Howard is. What more do you want? Hayes had 13 boards in 32 minutes. Howard had 7 in 49. Did you see that 3 footer that he short-armed in OT? That would have sealed the game right there. You can't miss that shot that way. If the ball peeked in then came out, that kind of miss would be different. But at least get it there. He's been hitting the perimeter J alot lately, but other than that, what is he good for? I'm serious. His play does not translate into wins, and you can't argue with that.
If you're talking about the play where Songaila had an uncontested score right down the middle of the lane, I saw that play, and it was Hayes' fault for not rotating. Juwan had to leave Songaila to "show" on the pick-and-roll, and Hayes blew his rotation, a rookie mistake. Chron confirms this: If this wasn't the play you were referring to, then nevermind and carry on!
classic game. Can you guys believe that there were people on this board who wanted to keep steve francis and not get mcgrady? unreal. Tmac is amazing. same reson kobe is so awesome in this league. when the game is on the line, healthy or not, this guy is like a god, he steps up and WILLS his way to the victory. so many people preach team and teamwork, well hell when you have "it" like tmac has, none of that other bull**** even matters. Just keep the game close and let the magic happen.
If Mcgrady had been healthy all season long we would probably have the best record in the west. Its amazing with what one guy of his talent can do for one team. Un freaking real. What a stud. Jordenesque, Kobeesque, tmac is the man, the rockets would be near the top had "the man" been healthy all year.
