The other guys know they're supposed to run back to Harden so that it gives him an option to pass. He can't help it if they wait to run back to him. As soon as they see double-team, they should be either setting screens or getting open in a hurry.
Yeah, we won the 17 in a row but we lost the second half of this game by 1 point. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE IT ALL!!!!
Part of why it was effective is that the refs weren't giving fouls on obvious contact. If he starts getting the calls, they have to play him less tight. What I saw was a big positive was Harden not losing his cool when he was clearly getting fouled and hounded by the defense. Ever since that game against Boston a while back when Marcus Smart get in his head at the end, Harden has done much better to keep his cool. Even better...as a team, they didn't play particularly well. Sloppy with the ball many times and some bad defense at others. Still, against a good Bucks team with one of the best players in the NBA, they still win...again. Good times, y'all. Good times.
Bucks is a team full of long arms, You aren't going to get another team with that length in the league. When the League starts doubling Harden I think he will be able to be more effective. It is a strategy that can stop him. This is where CP3 becomes key.
Yeah that's what will have to get cleaned up in practices and film time. Rockets have a lot of talent, they'll figure it out. The opposition gives you a 4 on 3 and there are several ways you can attack that. I said it over a month ago. I'd use Gordon as a screener. I'd get him to set good, hard screens and let him carve up 4 on 3. Gordon's handle limits him from living in the paint but when h gets there it is almost always a terrible thing for the defense.
Rockets could also use Harden differently entirely. Don't even make him initiate. Give him screen and rolls on pin down and off-ball screens. I hope D'Antoni lives up to his reputation as an offensive genius because he truly has a historically unfair weapon in Harden.
They beat Toronto and I give them a puncher's chance to win out, but I suspect when they play Portland Lillard and some other random guy will hit a ton of 3-pointers for the upset.
I thought they did an OK job. Harden didn't turn the ball over when the Bucks doubled him. Harden got the ball out immediately. I think the Rockets generated good shots at the basket, they just missed a bunch of them.
Pretty meh performance overall the last few games, yet we keep beating good teams. That's how you know you're good.
We have to attack the basket in a 4-on-3 situation instead of resetting with under 10 seconds left on the shot clock. Harden should pass to Paul or Gordon, then the ball-handler drives straight to the basket with Capela waiting for the lob. That's how you bust the trap by attacking the basket.
Happy we won. Keep it going. I didn't see the game. Is Capela gassed out? Only 19 minutes? I wanna see Road Ryno back against Toronto, with a good game off the bench. Go Houston Rockets!
