if our entire team didn't have 4 fouls in the 4th quarter and if yao hadn't been hit with ridiculous offensive foul after ridiculous offensive foul we probably wouldn't be in this situtation. as for the travel, knight did push him in the back and i think the bucks announcers decided that that was what they called. it was definitely questionable but considering the push fouls we were getting called for earlier that definitely qualified as a push. the inbounds violation, well, that was just obvious. he stepped right over the line, i have no idea why because he wasn't throwing or faking a pass at that point, and they made the call. at best we got back to only sorta being disadvantaged after all the fouls on yao. at worst they were just making the right calls down the stretch and didn't give anything back anyway.
These recent wins in OT may "pay off" in the playoffs. Learning how to win the close ones is critical, and close tough games are the norm in the second season. I do so hope the Rockets roll into the playoffs instead of stumble in, momentum is everything.
Yao has got another FT streak going....at least 24 straight now. How many did he make before missing?
Rockets sealed another winning month at 8-5 so far with the chance of going 9-5 tomorrow against the T-Wolves. Haven't the Rockets had a winning record in every month this season? Lets go month of April!
I think his last streak ended on 32. Cool thing about Yao is that he is a streaky shooter sometimes. His bad streaks usually aren't that bad, but his good streaks are absolutely phenomenal.
True...recently Yao has been going through one of those 'bad streaks', with a 9-20 game, a 5-13 game and a 7-13 game over the last 3 games. This is 21-46 or 45%. If Yao's 'bad streaks' last 3 games and are 45% I will be very happy.
Well he didn't say streaky free throw shooter he said streaky shooter and besides, what I said applies to both. Just be concerned about what you post, dont try and be the forum police.
Finally, Jeff Van called for the foul when the Rocks are up by 3 with seconds left. We can shoot FT's with anybody; why let em throw up the miracle?
give some credit to Mr. mean. according to yao yi 's book, it is him who teach yaoming be aggressive on court, by a unforgetible means. no wonder why he put another 20+/10+ game on hawks.
They also sealed a winning record for the year... always good when you're rooting for a team that's above .500. Its not good, however, when 6 teams in the East are in CONTENTION, and they're below .500.
Yeah, I laughed when I read solid's post. The funny thing is: that play went exactly how it should have for Houston. They: 1. Got the ball to Yao early in the shot clock. 2. Yao handled the ball well and didn't turn it over. 3. Yao kicked it back out to the *wide* open man. 4. JJ wisely shot the open 3 - he just missed. Ice cold today.
solid: I don't mean to sound harsh... it's just that the play was a textbook example of how to run an inside-out O and burn the double team. The shot didn't fall. Big deal. If we get that shot 100 times, I want JJ taking it every time.
