Tony Meija of Sportline.com predicted we lost 97:93 to Bucks. Ironically, we win 97:93 :D

Seriously some members here act like they are professional writers criticizing everything they see bad. Just take the win and enjoy it. The same reason they arn't NBA players is the same reason they can only talk trash about our players on a message board. If you actually play basketball you will know that not everyone can be SUPERSTARS with perfect game. The NBA is the highest level of basketball you can play at, it's going to be tougher for some players. BTW, STOP bringing up the past. When two of your best players are injured for more than half the season, you can't really judge your "role" players.

That being said, I'm not against critiquing but stop stating the obvious like you are the only ones who watched the game. Even JVG is being more optimistic this year.

this thread is disgusting. i really wonder why some of you even bother watching the games.

as for yao, he is every bit as unstoppable as he was last season so i'm not really sure where the complaint comes in. it was clear that he was a bit worn out from the fourth game in five nights but again he's still building that stamina up.

Yeah man..Luther's been a real dissapointment. He's only made clutch 3's in all of our wins, what a scrub. Head needs to work on his PG skills and his erratic play. (He went for a steal last night that gave Miller a wide open look, luckily he missed but man that could have changed the entire course of the game for us) He's been pulling his weight though. Tonight we played good, not great. Mcgrady can still take over games at will when he wants to which is nice to see again.

I think our team has got off to a very good start. We played 2 back to backs. We should've won the Neworleans game but oh well. Now the tough stretch is about to come. Pistons, Spurs, Miami, and Bulls. We could get (3-1) out of those 4. Please God let it be 4-0 during the stretch. I will be at the spurs and the Bulls game.

Glad we win this game. To be honest, I think yao shot too much in this game. That is not good for the team. 20 shots should be max

The sole purpose some people seem to have here is regularly hijacking threads with negativity. Even when a few of their points are correct, they have no idea how their repetition of the same points day after day after day after day comes across like water torture.

Ever know anyone who every time you talk to them you know they will bring up their pet peeve(s) within 5 minutes? A few people on this forum are like that. Broken records that just repeat themselves indefinitely.

I've only read the last few pages of this thread because I'm traveling and it's amazing how off track it is after a good win.

what's up with Novak being seemingly out of the rotation? And Juwan starting to pick up his minutes?

and just wtf is up with Bonzi?

other than these matters, its good to be a Rockets fan right now.

Zboy i agree with what you say here. Avery Johnson was a VERY STEADY pg, who rarely made boneheaded mistakes. Alston on the other hand never seems steady and looks out of control most times. i know all u stat geeks are going to bring out stats about how his TO's are low blah blah, but have u guys seen him play? Everytime he pushes the ball it seems like he's gonna trip. And he does screw up at crucial times especially against the Grizzlies when he was trying to get the ball upcourt but ended running over Brian Cardinal.

I might be focusing a little too much on details but come on, championship PG's have to have better poise than Rafer. Rafer, to me, from what i've seen doesn't have poise. I'm not saying he can't improve, but we won't improve as a team unless he gets better.

Man.....did you watch this game at all ??

When Yao Ming shoots too few, then people started to say he needed to be passed the rock more and shoots whenever he could, and not just pass out to team mates upon being double-teamed or triple-teamed.

When he shoots more than 20, then people said he should not shoot more.

It was just a game whereupon his shots ain't falling. And if you looked at those game photos that I linked, most of those shots were heavily contested at point-blank.....They were not forced shots, but heavily contested ones.

Of course, insteads of choosing to shoot his jumpers, he should try to dunk more.....but he had been heavily body-checked by Bogut and Skinner throughout the game. That could make him choose to shoot further away from the rim, which had affected his hit rate.

In this world, people are never satisfied. So don't sweat too much hearing all these comments.

I don't agree, that's a bad night for Yao but he still has 10/24 FG, if for TMAc, it would have been easily replaced with 5/24.

Maybe one of the stat geeks can pull the win-loss record when Yao takes > 20 shots. I have a hunch that we win at LEAST 70% of the time. The rule of thumb is usually when your pivot player takes the most shots, it usually helps out the defensive side of the ball. Shorter shots usually mean higher FG% and softer rebounds leading to less fast break points for the opposition which further means the defense can be set for almost every possession. Also, the softer shots open up offensive rebound opportunities.

I love the way Mac has been playing in the last 2 games. He started getting back by driving to the hoop against Memphis, and 2night it was so much easier. I predict 40+ against the Knicks

yes, Yao was not good as usual in this game, but if 10-24 is for TMac, will you say so?

I think 20 shots should be the min for Yao , in every game.
