Look I think Novak should get some PT too, but JVG is sending a message to the rookies by sitting them. You have to prove yourself and work hard in practice to see the floor. Juwan is a pro and he has worked his butt off for the little minutes he gets. Getting benched will only inspire guys like Novak and VSpan to do more and improve their games.

You're jumping to conclusions. i said part of his development. i rather see novak atleast get half of howards minutes when we are leading by such an substantial margin. we have more to gain by playing novak...

I actually think JVG was planning to give Novak some PT in the 4th quarter. And then Redd and Bell went off ... and all of a sudden he couldn't sacrifice any defense. He made an unpopular call by keeping Novak on the bench and it resulted in a W. I'm not complaining.

    take it easy....
you can't predict what will happen in the forthquarter before it starts although it seems a big win at the end of 3rd quarter .
JVG may planned to let yao who was hot in 3rd quarter score more pts and make the rest game be trashtime.and then put novak and vspan to the field
to gain more experience and become more stable.that is a good plan .but the game were not going on what we expected ,the oppoents cames back soon and yao missed lots shoots.the both new freshman have no chance to play because they are less stable than the other guys.the most important thing is to win not to put them to play and then lose the game.we can understand your feelings and we all hope the two guys show the different performances.we need more patience....

That's fine under normal circumstances, but this was a special game and place for Steve Novak. Here he is back home, dressed in an NBA uniform in front of his family friends and kids from his grade school who look up to him. And JVG decides even when they are up by 20 points that the kid doesn't need a chance to play in front of his hometown crowd. A lot of whom bought tickets to this game specifically to see this kid play.

All he had to do was put Steve in the game for one play up and down the court and the crowd could have cheered and everyone would have been satisfied. Instead JVG shows that he doesn't care about his players at all.

How can you inspire someone to work for you, if you won't do something so small for them?

Don't get me wrong.. I am very glad we got the win. I understand that you work for your place in the rotation. But come on.. one play on the court is going to blow the game for us??

Let him check in, run with the boys for a play, then take him back out!

i wish novak could dunk then im sure he would play a role..and if he can dunk he would be able to rebound...but dang that sucks that even though the game was a blowout, JVG didnt put novak in...sigh do we need an injury to allow novak to play?

Novak needs to hit the weights and VSpan turns the ball over way too much. This is a really tough league. I guarantee you they will get time if the game situation calls for it, but so far this year, JVG is going with his proven guys. Head has really played well IMO and Hayes looks like he has really improved too.

That is the funniest rebuttal I have read. You start of by saying no. And then proceed to say exactly what I was saying.

Yes they have to shoot high % (35-40) consistently from 3 point land. Thats exactly what I said. Thank you for agreeing with me.

    Carry on....

But they havent sucked as bad as Juwan for 10 years either.

    Lets be fair now....

I can work hard too if I am on the Rockets. Doesnt mean I should be playing if I cant guard a refree.

My grandma was watching the Rockets, saw Juwan play and, "I would drop 30 on that scrub's @ss from my wheelchair, all day, all night. Heck I dont even need geritol for that $hit!"

    I concurred. I respect elders.

Then why do you have such a beef with alston who has shot over 35% from 3 through his whole career?

I don't care who plays as long as they are winning.
