No, are you serious? How is it going to help the team in the playoffs if Vspan and Novak dont get any minutes in the regular season at all? Also it'll prevent our starters from getting to fatigued, if our bench can contribute more. Even if by playing our rookies we lose a few more games, it's not gonna make us miss the playoffs. Instead we'll end up having a team full of experienced players come playoffs time.
I don't know why all this bickering about Yao this and T-Mac that Anyone would be happy with a back to back road win any day (no matter how ugly), especially the ones where you have played 4 games in five nights. This time last year, the same Rockets team would have blown the lead and choke in the end, but there are some promising signs such as seeing us outrebounding teams and knowing how to close game out when it matters. That is very encouraging The rocket's bench are deeper this year, we can keep the game close even when playing sloppy, and let the stars close it out in the end. That is a very good sign. For all you Yao critic out there... get off his jock, he was obviously tired and gasping for breath in the last quarter, but was still productive over all. So chill .. it's an 80 game season, Yao will be fine. Anyhow , good to see TMac picking up the slack and coming out of his slump!
From the looks of the board. Most want JVG to play Novak and VSpan and to use our bench more. JVG needs to trust our depth and give it PT to improve and contribute.
With no Tmac and no Yao we needed scorers on the floor. Hayes can do a lot of things but he can't create his own shot. Juwan atleast has some one on one offensive game. Watch more basketball.
I rather see Yao take 24 shots And miss them all then seeing an tentative yao who plays like a sissy. trust me when i say this, out of 9 out of ten games, yao would knock those shots down.
van gundy doesn't care what you think, get that through yourhead. it isn't his ego, it is your ego thinking you have a better idea.
If you're wondering why we haven't seen VSPAN or Novak very much this season, it's because the Rockets haven't had any blowouts with the exception of the Dallas game. Coaches don't just put in inexperienced rookies in games that are likely to be close. When the Rockets' schedule gets easier, expect to see more of Novak and VSPAN.
Dude. I didnt come up with that number. I plugged in names in my NBA stat machine for the two player and thats what the program told me. Everytime I plug in Juwan's name, the machine asks me to type it again just to double check. I am using the same system that top GMs in the league use. One that Rockets cant afford. I have two of these suckers. I can sell you one for a good price. Shoot me an email.
Agreed, Juwan is almost as big a cancer as Steve Novak. http://www.82games.com/0607/0607HOU.HTM Juwan= -24 points per 100 possession Novak= -33 points pers 100 possession.
LOL!!! He says Juwan has a "one on one" offensive game. And then he asks ME to watch more basketball. I do watch basketball. What you need to do is stop watching Juwan's balls.
Jeezus christ people. Yao had a bad game. It's like we expect him to hit every single shot he takes, or else he's a crappy player. Bad games happen, coming off of 4 games in 5 nights. You guys can complain if this becomes a trend, but this is seriously rediculous. I really dont think any of ya'll are going to be happy with Yao ever. He scores 40, the response is "he shoulda had 50". I see this trend starting already, and it just boggles my mind. We freakin won right.
Juwan is done and over with. Novak is a rookie who will improve. But he needs on court time to improve. Juwan has had 10+ years to prove himself. I am still waiting......
I liked watching Luther and Rafer knock down a good portion of their open threes. We will be unstoppable if this trend continues.
