landry took 8 games off. tmac took 11 (and tmac played on that injured knee for several games). landry had his time dude. it's just takes a while to get back into game shape.

tmac wasn't very effective when he returned. it took him 5-6 games to be reasonably normal again.

He is a commentator for the game. He gets paid not to shut up.

And he is actually pretty on point even if you don't like what he is saying.

That has been his MO since he started having major injuries...

he goes up strong while his body is strong from the offseason, then he shy's away from contact that could agravate his back until the playoffs.

here's a question. can you remember the last time we could close out quarters. i swear we've sucked at it ever since i can remember. even during the championship years, i don't remember being good at closing out quarters at all, at least not the way most championship teams are. i don't know what it is, but it's like we're just hoping to make it to the end of the quarter instead of looking to step on throats.

It can only frustrate me so much when I recall that the 1994 Rockets lost 20 point leads in the 4th quarter in a single series against the Suns. Runs happen in the NBA. I also recall that this team is playing awesome without their best player. You can get frustrated and spazz out- people do all sorts of things- but at some point you have to look at the bigger picture.

You need a good and smart point guard to consistently close out quarters on a good note.

Houston has never had a steady point guard like that.

tmac's offensive game is as complete as anybody IF he makes his jumper. i don't know why he can't make his jumper more consistently.

great form, good lift... i don't know why???

maybe he has to shoot earlier before games to get in a rhythm again

i understand that. even the spurs went into a slump before getting in playoff mode.

all i'm saying is that i see so much potential with this team. not a lot of teams have the ability to build big leads as often as the rockets do.

and when they build that lead they usually let it slip.

they are a mental edge away from being a championship team. that's what kills me.

I don't see Portland being a big team anytime soon, even next year.

Why? No matter how big a leader a young player is, it can never do well without a veteran leader.

the 3-peat lakers and bulls didn't have any and they dominated the close of quarters. you need a killer mentality and the ability to will yourself to dominate another team. obviously having good players helps, but there are teams with good players who don't do it and teams with good players who do and you can just tell who has that mentality and who doesn't. we never have.

roy has no superstar potential. unless oden becomes a legit big men, they will only win via the pistons style.
