Counting down until game tie. We got this.

 

here we go, the boys are going to have to hit their 3 pointers tonight b/c they are going to have some new way to defend yao (fronting him)

 

NBA tv is kind of weak--our series is much more interesting/competitive than both of the games on TNT tonight

 

We will win tonight!

 

Interesting game to see how Portland will play. I think they front Yao hard immediately and we don't waste time trying to post but instead send Yao out to play high pick and roll with Brooks. Brooks drives and kicks to Yao for uncontested jumper or takes it all the way with Yao trailing the play to clean up. We'll do this over and over again until Portland stops fronting. Every great team has a go to move and this will become ours.

I don't understand why the fans feel that the Rox have to change who they are because of what their opponents decides on doing. If the Rox are the better team (which I think they are) then the Rox should be the one making the other team adjust, not the other way around.

If they put Aldridge on Yao, then Yao should have a field day with the offensive boards. Not only does Yao have the advantage size wise, he should also have position due to the fronting defense. I could see the Rox have a 2 for 1 possession on every other possession. I wouldn't be surprised if Yao gets a double-double by the middle of the 1st quarter if this was the case. And on the defensive side of the ball, nothing is stopping the Rox on going zone to negate small ball.

 

portland is crying like babies about the refs...

as far as I'm concerned the refs were great...they were NOT biased...

david stern was there to monitor their job performance so they were scared to get fired by dstern$$$ how can they afford to be biased and sloppy???so? they turned in their best performance as a ref!

 

Rest of the team is gonna have to step up tonight. Blazers game plan is gonna be to make someone other than Yao beat them. I think they're gonna put smaller guys on Yao and front him/double him. Brooks, Artest, Battier, etc. should get a lot of open 3s. I'd also think that the Blazers will wanna speed up the tempo of the game and try to run more.

 

well, sterm will not be there for game 2. you'd better prepared for some bs calls against the rockets.

 

You can't speed up the tempo, taking the ball out of the net. If they front Yao he must immediately come out for the PnR and pop to the free throw line for an easy jumper.

Also swing to Artest and run PnR with Yao where he gets the say top of the key/free throw jumper.

Too many options for Portland to stop.

Can't wait! I really want to see if Portland will give the Rockets a hard time or will the Rockets just steamroll again.

Or that BS Flop where Yao sets a good pick on Roy only to be sent to the bench because the Refs bought the flop?

 

If not in foul trouble in the first quarter, Yao will get 30+ points,
11/13, 12 rbs ,3 blks. (like in games with dallas several years ago)
