PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan ruptured his right Achilles tendon during practice Friday and will need surgery.

McMillan will coach Saturday night's game against Houston, but he will miss next week's four-game road trip.

The Blazers say McMillan will have surgery on Monday.

Assistant coach Dean Demopoulos will take McMillan's place starting Monday in New York

Hayes on Oden, Scola/Andersen on Pryzbilla, doesn't sound good. Let's hope Oden sticks to his usually foul trouble and plays 17 minutes and not too many in the 4th.

hey thats a good thing! nate mcmillan is all over the place with his lineups and substitutions and playtime distribution...one day he starts miller the next he decides to start webster and the next day steve blake is playing SG...

I have a feeling that Dean Demopoulos guy is gonna be better for the Blazers than Nate M

Aldridge (knee) sat out Friday's practice and remains a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Rockets, The Columbian reports.
    Spin:
Aldridge is recovering from a right knee bone contusion. He missed Tuesday's game and hasn't practiced all week.

Is Scola clear to play tonight?

Last game against Warriors, he didn't even get a chance to play the 2nd half maybe due to his eyelid problem. Hope tonight Luis 'Goggle' Scola would scorch them inside and Aaron will shoot the lights out from outside.

Expect the same level of effort and energy from last game, esp the first half of Warriors game.

outlaw has been our kryptonite more than aldridge. It seems like the rockets concede aldridge's points.
