Derek Anderson will be activated from the injury list. Mobley's assignment is to contain DA. Knowing DA is one of the quickest players in the NBA, it will be hard for the Cat to catchup. Last season, DA was able to beat Cat on the dribble. Yao could become vulnerable to DA's speed, if Cat can't control him.

There's no way for Cato to matchup Sheed's speed. Randolph is quite slow, but very active under the post. A good matchup to Randolph is probably Bragg.

good post with valid points. i agree Derek can cause some problems with he's speed and handels for cuttino. as for sheed, he's be starting at the 3 spot so i'm guessing JJ will take him, which will mean the 6'11 sheed will consistantly abuse in the low post.

Jim Jackson on Rasheed? Hm...giving up 4" in height. But will see.

I think Yao has probably learned something from his matchup against GSW's 6'11 center Eric Dampier. Yao needs to use his big body to punish Dale Davis. Yao is like 60 pounds more weight than Davis, plus the height advantage by 7".

LOL, Jim Jackson is closer to 6'4 than 6'7, and Rasheed is closer to 7'0 than 6'11.

Believe me, JJ gives up AT LEAST 6 inches to Rasheed in terms of height.

I'm so disappointed that in Hong Kong, ESPN broadcasts Wolves Vs Cavaliers instead of Rockets Vs Blazers, I want to see Yao much more than Lebron!

    750 KXL News Radio

You may need to download a small plug-in to listen online. I have never tried this link so I don't know if it actually works.

********Remember, because of the NBA restriction you may need to start listening at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the game so it will not kick you off.*********

    Hope this helps.

automatic banning of anybody that posts "1st" in a game thread, and an automatic banning AND a kick in the nuts to anybody that posts "1st" when they're the second post in a game thread...

Now that I have my fill of the sweet nectar of Mobely hate, I'm calling his number for this one. I want Yao to hit the Cat off curls all night, and, - it ought to be - Cat also feeds the Yao down low (yeah right.) Matchups favor our guards and Yao. Steve should get the chance to go nuts if the team (JJ) can swing him the ball
effectively through Yao or around the perimeter.

    Plan : Yao low l , Cato low r,

Cat left, Steve r (a change), JJ top middle

Albeit unconventional, at least we get a chance to attack on two sides, rather than tieing up SF at the top. Sheed can't stop JJ from distributing out there, and our guards are quicker to the ball.

It's going to be a tough game but if we win it will be the most impressive win so far this season.

I don't know if it's a good thing Bonzi is out. Woods is a good player and has been doing well in his minutes, but he is expected to be a little more inconsistent in his performance than Bonzi so hopefully we can give him some trouble.

Rasheed has been looking sharp these last games IMO. Get this stupid feeling that he will burn us.. Damn that man!! But WAIT!! Boki will get some time on him I hope.. He will annoy Sheed with his hustle D and maybe get him to loose his focus..

    Rox can do it

You're saying that the Warriors were satisfied to score only 83 points and lose by two?

I think, maybe you're not giving the Rockets D enough credit. #1 in the league in points allowed and opponent's field goal percentage through 1/7th of the season is encouraging.

I have a bad feeling about this one. Somehow I think Portland's large front lineup is going to bruise and bully the Rox to a loss. :( I really really hope I am wrong.

Stoudamire will have a big game (as many mediocre pg's do against us), but the Rox will win 92-81.

Cartman: I'll 'rochambeaux' you for it!

Anyway, yes, it's true that the Blazers present some matchup problems for us. But all the hand-wringing and chicken-little 'sky-is-falling' predictions of dire disaster are a little much.

So they present matchup problems. Isn't that what every coach of every basketball team ever both trying to do against the opponent, as well as match up against the opponent's matchup problems?

It's not like the Rockets have never played basketball before, and I do believe JVG has coached a game or two in the league.

And besides, no one is talking about the matchup problems WE present to them. Excuse me, but I think we have a 7'6" guy with skills as OUR center, and they have.. who again? .. a fossil who should be playing backup 4 in this league.

Sorry, but whoever thinks the Rockets should be skeered of Randolph and Sheed, believe me when I tell you that the Blazeups are ten times more concerned about Yao's mismatch against them.

Plus, Boki, Braggs, Padgett, and maybe even Man-Teats can burn their 24 fouls between them on Sheed and Randolph..

PLUS, as much as people may fear Zach lighting up Cato, ZR still has to guard a bigger and taller player in Cato.

That's not even mentioning that they have very little with which to matchup against SF and Cat.. I mean, how often does SF play a guy he can post up? And Qwoods having to guard Mobley? Please.

We present a few matchup problems of our own, and it all starts with the big man in the middle. They will be double-teaming Yao from the beginning, they HAVE to, and since they suck at defense, especially the zone, they will probably be sending him to the line too much anyway..

The potential is there for us to have a blowout win tonight.. BUT, of course, this is predicated upon the hope that the Rockets play their 'smart' game, and don't degenerate back into big dummies.. if that happens, then we lose big.

dude, I am calling you out right now.

you're predictions are worse than my Yankees/Red Sox predictions.

I was 0-2, but ZRB, let's take a look at your previous game predictions...

you obviously don't know what defense is

good guess, but it was 90-70 the other way around

    yao 8-17 21 points and 14 rebounds

    98-66 houston:rolleyes:

    and finally....
    rockets win 102-85

so are going to predict a loss every game or what?
