Without Yao/Deke protecting the paint, Battier's defense is just average. It's time to move him while he is still considered valuable by some GMs.

It's sad while watching this game. It looks like we're lucky to get every signle point. Playoff? you got to be kidding.

Exactly, we need a true leader out there, someone who takes charge and willing to put the team on their back, this is going to be a tough season and some of these players aren't used to losing, but we need to stick together grow and see what we can acheive out there, you never know

Is this some type of homage to Yao or something?

What the hell do you expect? We have no interior defense that can cover players asses therefore our perimeter D is not going to look as good. It's just reality.

Tell us something new. We need to find out who among the young guns will turn into one. AB might become on.

I do not like what I am seeing out of Ariza on defense, he also looks similar to Ron on offense in the sense that he kinda stalls the offense.

At least we know that next year we will be back way better and a contender again. Lucky we are not a fan like the Kings where their rebuilding process has been forever..

You are a fool if you really think we are playoff bound. Don't know why so many people aren't realistic with the roster we have. Even then its going to be a joy to watch them play and never give up. I'm sure the defense will get better as the season rolls on since the guys will develop a better feel to cover for each other mistakes.

their starting lineup is too tall for us, and their bench is too quick.

our executions are hesitated, this is looking bad.

Portland has a very good team. Keep that in mind. We need to play better defense and take care of the ball. You can't run if you turn the ball over every other time down the court.

We are allowing too many 3's bc we are trying to dbl down low and play help defense, when you do this you leave weak side open bc everyone is rotating. And it just so happens Portland has some good 3 pt shooters.

I'm impressed with Oden tonight, isn't playing so much like a g'pa. Outlaw has been shooting well too, but i don't expect this to last. Scola is struggling with Portlands bigs, he's turning the ball over too much too and we still don't have enough movement off the ball....imo. But don't get down on the Rox, there are still many good things coming out of this game and season.

Personally I think we could be MUCH worse. Portland looks solid and they often have 2-3 big men on the court that have a good size advantage on us. This game is still within reach, and that is definitely a positive.

If anyone saw the end of the first quarter of the Lakers/Clippers game, at least we aren't anything like the Clippers were in the last 4-5 minutes. That was downright embarrassing.
