now V-Span is our best defender? do you ever get tired of making stuff up? seriously, JVG played Ryan Bowen because he was a good defender. Ryan freaking Bowen! If V-Span could pass, penetrate and defende like you claim, he would be Steve Nash.

 

hmm, interesting take, but I disagree. the core group of players were playing much better defensively at the beginning of the year. Our defensive performance against the mavs ( 2 of the games i recall clearly) and lakers (in our win) which you would think pose the same match ups issues the Raptors present. Our core defense sucks right now, and it has nothing to do with v-span. Its a team wide struggle, dont see the hustle, and urgency...

 

now would you look at that? down to a 13 point lead and they have all of 5 points in this quarter

 

The one thing that V-span does relatively well is stay in front of his man and draw charges and get steals.

His shot has been terrible while his passing has been pretty good.

V-Span moves his feet better on D.....go watch him defend Gilbert Arenas earlier this year....JVG was even RAVING about his defense...so don't take my word for it...take JVGs.

But tonigh't matchup problems are more like the issues we have with the Suns....it is a PG speed problem....Dallas is more of a wing speed problem....that and PF.

look DD i'm a vspan supporter too but you cant put him in now when the team is not playing well and when he hasn't played proper minutes for months and expect him to do miracles. the rarely used bench cant do nothing now.. it's the regulars that need to stand up i believe..

 

Great. But come on Mutombo......That was your rebound. Now just DEFENSE!!! and good shoots in ofense! We can do that. Now there is a game. Thay cant find the way to the rim. And thats real, not 70% FG

 

at the time we played the lakers they were ranked in the top in ppg (not sure any more). Smush Parker is no tj ford, but he definitley has some speed that could give us trouble, the same for devin harris. anyways, wow its only a 10 point lead!

 

For god sake Hayes you need to make them.

it may not be your night when you miss 9 layups in a row and then tj ford of all people nails a high arcing 3 right in your face to beat the shotclock and another tough jumper that rolled in to beat the shotclock.

the last 2 shots he hit were very tough. not like rafer is just handing him layups.


edit: rafer owning himself there. why do you reach in on a guy about to take a tough fadeaway like that?
